This is an original hipo dual point distributor. It’s original shape, I would always suggest a rebuild before using, but a very good start, please feel free to ask any questions.

Being as Motorcraft did not come online until in 1970, this cannot be a 1967 distributor. It is a correct service part for the 1967 year but was produced in 1974. The original application for the C7OF-K distributor is 1967 Hipo 289 with Thermactor emmisions.

Here is an Ebay auction for a used Motorcraft Hipo distributor by Ebay member "mustangmasters428" with a starting bid of $595.00:

Here we have a very nice gently used "C7OE" Motorcraft Dual Point Distributor for a 289 High Performance engine, a replacement used in 1967 Mustangs, Fairlane's, and Cyclones with these special 271 horsepower motors. Standard distributors were equipped with a vacuum advance pod on the side. The stock units had only 1 set of points unlike these high-performance units which used 2 sets of points to get a hotter spark for increased performance. They also had a sleek distinctive look with NO vacuum advance due to low vacuum.

This original distributor has some minor cosmetic issues like a C8OE stalk verses a C5OE which is a manufacturer flaw. There are no extra holes or any modifications for this reconditioned unit. You will find it is in good used working condition although we do suggest you use your judgement before installing. The lobes are crisp to snap both sets of points open as designed. No excessive play in the shaft, this unit has no visible signs of gouges, welds, or repairs.

This piece would be great for a used as is for a survivor car or could be a perfect candidate for a K code classic restoration. This unit has the factory part number of C7OF-12127-K which was for the 67 Mustang Shelby models stamped date of 4J7.
