Here is another Ebay auction for a used early Hipo air cleaner by Ebay member "westcoastclassicinc" with a Buy-It-Now of $685.00 or make offer:

Factory Ford open element air cleaner, also came on 260 Sprint and early HiPo 289's found in 1964-1/2 - 1965 Mustang, 1963 - 1965 Ford Falcon, 1963 - 1964 Shelby Cobra, 1963 - 1965 Ford Fairlane,1963-1965 Falcon Sprint and 1965 Shelby.

I had the top re-plated but chose to not bead blast or paint the base or remove the breather port that was added. One tiny defect in the chrome that you can see in my picture with a screw driver pointing it out. Minor but I want you to be informed. My eyes are not good enough to locate a date code if their is one. This is guaranteed to be original as I obtained three of them from the estate of a Comet collector. Please check out my prior listings for details and price of the other two I sold. Don Rush / West Coast Classic Cougar

Here is an Ebay auction for a used air cleaner base and lid for a Hipo 289 by Ebay member "mustangmasters428" with a starting bid of $595.00:

Here we have an original 14 inch Air Breather Base and double dimpled Chrome Lid for a 64-66 HiPo 289 Mustang or 67 & Litre Galaxie. You will find these pieces to be far heavier in design than the reproduction models and when properly restored, to be exact in every detail for that classic original restoration. Real deal parts are hard to find & yes the extra pictured are for sale.

We feel that in the condition we are offering this item, that if you have an unrestored or Driven Class, the condition of this unit will probably be acceptable, although if yours is a Concours or Thoroughbred you will probably rechrome and repaint. Original parts for original cars, can't do any better than that, can you? Let us know if you need a single part or have another need.

This auction is confusing as it shows far more than the one air cleaner and the Galxie double hump is in another auction. You need to check with the seller to see what he is actually offering.
