    EXTRA RARE NON GT CAR! MOST K CODES WERE GT CARS


    THE K CODE RUNNING GEAR WAS GONE DECADES AGO. THE ENGINE APPEARS TO BE A 302 (E9) FROM THE 80S (NON RUNNING). THE TRANSMISSION IS A 1965 3 SPEED TOPLOADER ACCORDING TO THE TAG (HEF-CV). THE REAREND IS AN 8" ONE LEG. THE MUFFLERS ARE FACTORY FORD WITH 11-65 AND 10-65 DATE STAMPS (SEE PICS). THE RH EXHAUST MANIFOLD IS C8OE 9430-0 OR -D. IT'S HARD TO SEE THE MANIFOLDS WHILE INSTALLED. I CANT SEE THE LH MANIFOLD DATE BUT IT SEEMS TO MATCH. STEERING GEAR BOX IS FACTORY (HCC-AW). THIS IS A GT ONLY 16:1 STEERING BOX UNLESS YOU HAVE A K CODE. SINGLE BOWL FACTORY DISK BRAKES STILL ON THE CAR. CALIPERS ARE IN THE TRUNK. I PULLED THE REAR SEAT SO YOU CAN SEE THE FACTORY DUAL EXHAUST BRACKETS WHICH WOULD ONLY BE ON AN "A" OR "K" CODE. THE CAR STARTED IN CLEVELAND THEN SPENT MANY YEARS AN ALASKA AND FINALLY ENDED UP IN WASHINGTON STATE IN 1988. SHE HAS BEEN STORED UNDER COVER FOR 15 YEARS SINCE SHE WAS LAST ON THE ROAD.


    THIS IS AN ORIGINAL SHEET METAL CAR! ONLY THE PASSENGER FENDER WAS CHANGED AFTER A SMALL FENDER BENDER MANY YEARS AGO (STILL SOME SMALL DAMAGE TO THE RIGHT TORQUE BOX, SEE PIC). EVERY PANEL SHOWS EVIDENCE ON SILVER FROST PAINT UNDER DARK GREEN AND RED. THERE APPEARS TO BE NO HISTORY OF METAL REPAIR OR PATCH REPLACEMENT. IT WILL NEED SOME RUST REPAIR. WITHOUT STRIPPING, MEDIA BLASTING AND SEALING THE CAR, IT'S HARD TO TELL EXACTLY HOW MUCH. THIS IS FAR FROM A LOST CAUSE, BUT NEEDS A FAIR AMOUNT OF METAL WORK. THERE IS RUST THROUGH IN SPOTS ON THE FLOORS, TRUNK, LOWER REAR QUARTERS, PASSENGER DOOR AT BOTTOM (SEE PIC, I WOULD REPLACE). FRAME RAILS HAVE SOME DENTS. DRIVERS DOOR LOOKS LIKE IT WILL CLEAN UP NICE. HOOD AND TRUNK LOOK SURPRISINGLY CLEAN. BOTH FRONT APRONS (WITH VIN STAMPS) ARE NICE. ALL THE GLASS IS IN PLACE. DOOR AND QUARTER GLASS GO UP AND DOWN.


    THIS CAR SHOWS NO EVIDENCE OF CUTTING OR WELDING (ALTHOUGH IT NEEDS SOME). TRY AND FIND ANOTHER 43 YEAR OLD "BARN FIND" K CODE WITH THE ORIGINAL DOOR WITH TAG STILL ATTATCHED, BOTH FRONT APRONS WITH CORRECT VIN STAMPS, A TITLE ISSUED IN 1988 AND AN OLD PINK SLIP ALL WITH THE SAME VIN!


    THE FACTORY K CODE REAR END HAD THE SNUBBER ATTATCHED TO THE 3RD MEMBER AND A HEAVY DUTY PLATE MOUNTED TO THE UNDERSIDE OF THE CAR. ALL OTHER MUSTANGS HAD A SNUBBER MOUNTED DIRECTLY TO THE FLOOR WITH A DIFFERENT BRACKET. YOU CANNOT GET THE FACTORY K CODE SNUBBER BRACKETS UNLESS YOU CUT THEM OFF AN OLD K CODE (HUGE $$). THIS CAR HAS THE ORIGINAL K CODE SNUBBER PLATE INTACT AND IN NICE SHAPE! (SEE PIC)


    ALSO, THE K CODE CAME WITH A MANUAL CHOKE LOCATED ON THE LEFT SIDE OF THE DASH UNDERNEATH MOUNTED THROUGH A D SHAPE HOLE. THERE IS ALSO A FACTORY HOLE THROUGH THE FIREWALL WHERE THE CHOKE CABLE WAS.


    THE CAR WILL NEED TO BE TOWED FROM MY HOME IN FEDERAL WAY, WA. I CAN HELP WITH ARRANGEMENTS. THERE IS A VEHICLE TRANSPORT COMPANY LESS THAN 1 MILE FROM MY HOME. PLEASE EMAIL OFFERS
