This Mustang was born on 20E-April 20, 1966, as a

63A - fastback standard interior, R - Dark Green Metallic, 26 - Black with Black interior, E - 3.50:1 locking differential, 5 - 4 speed manual transmission and delivered to the LA DSO (71), (see door data plate picture).

This Mustang continues to grow in value and provides a great invest or indulge in your nostalgic self as it is a blast to drive turns heads at all corners

Shelby ordered this exact car less the GT package to build his GT 350's, and this one has all the engine and suspension upgrades if one would like to build a replica. If not, it surely now drives, handles and performs like any GT 350 for a fraction of the cost.

We first started trying to buy the car in 1987 from a neighbor whom had two of these GT K code Fastbacks, this one and a red twin both in garage storage as he new the rarity and value of these K code mustangs. The neighbor was the third owner who had purchased the car from a fellow Seattle fire fighter who purchased the mustang in 1968 from the orginal owner also a fire fighter. Knowing the history and owners insured authenticity and originality of the car when we purchased this mustang. The only mystery is how or why the LA DSO car got to Seattle. This is an unmolested 1966 GT K code Fastback of which we are just completing a full restoration.

The restoration started in 1998 with a complete disassembly down to the unibody after purchasing the mustang from its third owner. Both the engine and transmission have the VIN stamped in the proper locations. Investigation also revealed the factory GT items.

The unibody was bead blasted and all removable body parts were sent to Canada for stripping, electrolyzing and etching and then all pieces and body were primed with DP epoxy primer. The paint is a base coat and clear coat system matched to the factory color. The primer has been on the car since about 2000 and the final finish was applied in June 2007.

The engine was bored .030 over and returned to stock with orginal crank and rods that were reconditioned. Tony Branda supplied the new hipo new cam, solid lifters, hipo push rods and all Shelby performance items including intake manifold, oil pan, tri-y headers and aluminized stock looking dual exhaust. The heads are rebuilt including hardened valve seats for use with unlead fuel. The Shelby Hi Rise intake supports a Holley manual choke carburetor.

The interior has new chrome, carpet, dash pad and headliner whilst everthing else is orginal including the vinyl seating.

The short option list includes GT equipment group, 5 original Styled Steel wheels, simulated wood grain steering wheel, 8K rally pac ( clock has been updated with quartz movement) and an orginal 8 track stereo. There is a console that was added sometime later that is not in the car.

One inch drop springs both front and back simulate the Shelby drop without drilling holes. All hard to find orginal stuff has been saved and will go with the car. The method for restoring was to refurbish orginal, purchase/find NOS, then concurs reproductions and reproduction parts as a last measure.

Buyer will be allowed an inspection of vehicle to insure satisfaction of purchase within the time between deposit and final payment is due. If buyer backs out of the purchase obligation for any reason the deposit will be kept by owner if seller is so inclined.
