<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>Here is a 1966 Ford Mustang K-Code AUTOMATIC Fastback. You guys out there know how rare this car is. I am listing this for my father who is now 71 years old, he has had his fun with it! He has owned the car for 23 years, and has only used it as a weekend/car show cruiser. The car was sold new in St Louis, and probably been in the midwest it's whole life. It was never a basket case, but I do know it has had quarter panels, the driver side floorboard, and the trunk side skirts done at some point. The frame rails are all original, the rears are a little "fat" towards the very back of the car, but nothing I would deem as in need of immediate attention. All in all, a really solid pony-car. Front frame rails, shock towers, cowl, torque boxes, trunk floor, all have no problems whatsoever. The repairs that were done are more than 20 years old, so they are not up to the perfection that is achievable with todays technology, but they are fine for a driver/weekend showcar. My father bought it in 1983 and it was already mostly done except for paint. The motor had been gone through when he bought it, and I believe it is .030 over, but can't be sure. We have never actually looked for the vin on the block or trans, but to the best of his knowledge, this IS a numbers matching car. I've included photos of the "19" casting numbers on the heads, which designates them as HiPo's. It has most of the correct ORIGINAL, not repo, HiPo parts (intake, distributor, alt pulley, fan shroud). The only thing it doesn't have are the original exhaust manifolds, they were switched out to tri-y headers long before he bought it, and after much deliberation about the carburator, it has been deemed non-original as well. It is a Holley, but yet has the FoMoCo tag attached to it. You be the judge. Well, I've ridden in this car ever since I was a young kid, and even driven it a couple of times, and let me tell you, when that S.O.B hits 5000 RPM and 2nd gear at the same time, you better be prepared. A REAL HiPo Mustang is like none other you'll ever drive. This was definetly purchased new as a street "sleeper", there are NO options on it other than the HiPo motor and the automatic trans. None. This car is a reliable, running, driving, stopping vehicle that looks incredible. It is not a concours trailered car, but still looks better than most street driven vehicles. If you wanted to make it concours correct though, it would be easier than most. To look at the vehicle before bidding, you MUST email me first, and it will be set up by appointment. If you've been looking for the rarer than rare car that has NEVER been butchered or turned into a Shelby wanna-be, this is it. I want to make clear that the car is NOT a concours ready, rotisserie restored, trailered car, it has been driven and enjoyed for the car that it is. If you want the trailer-queen kind of vehicle, this could be it, but you should expect to have to put some elbow grease into it. Thanks for looking, and good luck bidding.

  • I drove over and looked at 6F09K189564 with a friend of mine yesterday. If anyone on the site is interested in this car they can email me for my observations. I can say the owner was very open and honest about the car. Q.
