1965 Mustang K Code Fastback R Model clone.

    VIN-5F09K334145

This car was bought 6 years ago in Manassas VA. In its rebuild it has received.

    -New ¼ panel skins

    -New outer fender wells.

    -Partial floor pans

    -New reproduction front fenders

    -Fiberglass hood steal reinforced

    -R model fiberglass front valance

    -New front cross member

    -New engine compartment panels.

Mechanical it runs great. It does NOT have the hipo engine or transmission. The car was originally a four speed, but I never saw it or the hipo.

Items original to the K code that are still on the car include

-9 inch rear end and bump plate

    -Front disk breaks

    -Larger master cylinder

    -Tighter ratio steering box

    -Larger front stabilizer bar

Currently the mustang has an A code 289ci engine with aluminum intake holly 650 carb. and a mild cam. The transmission is a ford AOD out of a 84 Lincoln with a higher stall and a shift kit. It has 4:11 gears and an auburn limited slip.

The only rust is on the vehicles left frame rail.

The paint on the vehicle looks good driving down the road but at about 10 feet one can see that is has orange peel.

The interior of the car has new carpet, seat covers, headliner,… the dash has been changed to the R model style. The door panels the only interior pieces not completely finished. They are covered with a sheet of aluminum.

This addition is to address a few questions I have had about the Mustang

When I bought this car 6 years ago there was front end damage and the front left inner fender well was missing where the normal VIN under the hood is found. The new panel that usually has the stamp does not have a VIN stamp in it. The VIN pictured is still on the left side but is on the panel closer to the cowl. It is a factory stamped VIN but is usually covered by the front fender. The front fender has been notched to show the number. There is also a factory VIN stamp on the right side but is still covered by the fender. These two stamps are on all cars, but are both usually covered. The title is clean and the door tag is original.

Orange peel-is a paint condition where the paint does not lie flat and resembles the skin of an orange. Most cars have this from the factory. On this car it is more pronounced than found on a factory car. Do not expect perfect paint.

It was an original four speed, but it now has an automatic with a B&M Quicksilver shifter. The clutch pedal is still there. It is under the carpet. There is no linkage.

To get the R model look I got larger tires. They rub the fenders a small amount in sharp corners. The car runs great.

In the picture with the U-joint, to the left is the bump plate for the 9 inch rear end. This is only found on K codes and Shelbys.

This car has the original 9 inch rear end. Its gears were originally 3:55 with an open rear end. It now has 4:11 with an auburn limited slip. The cowl is good and does not leak. The R model gauge cluster's gauges are Auto-Meter. The trunk lock is not installed.

A $500 nonrefundable deposit is required within 48 hours of auctions end

Info on K-code mustangs can be found at the in the web site in the original listing and more info at http://www.hipomustang.com To those muscle car enthusiasts who do not know about the K code (hipo) mustang you might want to do some research, K code mustangs carry more value than the standard mustang. So don’t complain about finding a 6 cylinder fastback for 1/3 of the price of this one and expect the price to be dropped.
