C5OE-A HiPo Heads

These used heads were <b>SOLD</b> for $995.00 by eBay seller "mustangmasters428".

<b>DESCRIPTION</b>: Here we have a pair of Ford 289 High-Performance heads recently brought to us from one of our recent buyouts. The 289 HiPo motor was the best Ford had to offer in the earlier model Mustangs, Shelby's and Fairlanes. The Shelby GT 350 and all K model Mustangs as well as HiPo Fairlanes all used these 271 HP motors. A stronger, better design: these are a Cobra must.

All the HiPo characteristics are present as seen in the photos. You can clearly see the recessed valve saddles, and, of course, factory screw-in studs. These 289 castings have a "20" on one head, and a "21" on the top corner, and a pronounced 4V on both the top and bottom sides. Pictures clearly show casting number C5OE and date codes are 5J30 and a 5K4 for those that are in need of this info.

These heads are nice, with clean castings, which is uncommon in these high revving motors. We see no signs of cracks or welds, but these heads have been machined on the gasket side to assure a clean, flat surface. These heads were on a balanced 289 motor that had special rods, main cap girdles, had little use, and has been in storage for many years. The footprint (recessed area on bottom of the head to indicate planing or modifications) is clean and freshly cut, and is ready to install.

<b>DESCRIPTION</b>:

You are bidding on a matched pair of original 289 HIPO cylinder heads. Part number C5OE, and casting date is 5A11. These heads do not appear to have been milled. They have been fitted with 1.94 and 1.60 valves, and have a small machine cut in the combustion chamber to unshroud the exhaust valve. Removed from a very strong running 289 that was built a few years ago. They are ready to run as is. No cracks or stripped threads, and include rockers.
