• Hi Guys and Gals I have a 68 Mustang that came from the factor with a 6 cyl. I just built a 400 hp 302 motor for my car. Do I need to change the motor mounts and frame mounts to bolt this in ?? I could use a little help on this one . Thank you all in advance for your help. I am a proud paying member to this sight if anyone has any ideas on my question please email them to me at brianb25@hotmail.com Thanks again. Brian Brooks

  • i believe mounts for a 6cyl and 8 cyl on any year are different. also if you truly have that kind of power, i think the choice is very obvious.

    good luck.

Yep. With 400 hp you should go with a premium aftermarket performance mount. Depending on the header combination you decide to go with, you may even want to go with adjustable mounts to help with clearance issues.
