color questions

    Hi Guys, couple questions about my k code:


    1. The rear shackles that hold on my leaf springs are silver? Is that the correct color?


    2. The leaf springs are a cast blast color? Is that correct?


    3. The same with the drive shaft? Its a cast blast color ???

    Rear shackles were stamped steel with darkened studs and an oil coating. Repro's are pretty nice and cheap.


    Leaf springs were oil quenched, so have a very dark appearance and also with an oil coating. The clamps are stamped steel, so there would be a contrast. Rubber insulators on the clamps would not be painted, just regular black rubber.


    Driveshaft was also made from sheet steel, so the tube would be a little lighter than the cast ends.


    Of course, if you're not concerned about this level of detail, cast blast paint is fine for all of the items you listed.
