I am looking to buy an NOS, good used, or CORRECT reproduction SPIRAL trunk rod insulator for my '65 Convertible. Thanks!

Most of these are brittle and fall apart.. becareful

I wonder if the reproduction one can carefully be cut (off the car)(may be with a sample of an original) so it would resemble an original?-there has got to be something that will work-I can't believe that this piece was made for Ford just for this application...
