block help

    Need info: I have an old block that has been in my shop for awhile that i need identified. It has the large main cops on it with a C4OE F and a build date of 5H25. It is a 5 bolt bellhousing block. I was going to try to use it in my 1965 Mustang but the bellhousing presents new problems. Thanks for the help, John

    John You could do a couple of things with your block. (1.) Your could try to locate a 6 bolt 1965 289 block with date codes close to your build date and have the engine lined bored for your current main caps or (2.) find a 5 bolt bell housing and use a small face toploader trans. with it. I think with the small face trans requires you to change the driveshaft front yok. The 5 bolt engine is probally not correct for your car.
