<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>the bumper plate welded to the under side of the floor for the 9" rear end bumper rubber to impact is only on factory 9" rear end cars and this for 65/66 Mustangs is <b>the K code and Shelby Mustangs only</b> <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

Beg to differ but A code GT's could also have that same bumper plate.

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>this answer won't address your question, but I feel compelled to mention that a child young enough to need a special seat probably shouldn't be a passenger in any vintage car unless there is no other safer (modern) transportation available. <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

Zray no offence but in my book, if someone is old enough to look at me with a sparkle in the eyes, a huge smile and say "Daddy I wanna ride in your Mustang !" then he/she's got a ticket <img src=images/icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=images/icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=images/icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=images/icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>

Troy can you post or send me a pic of your aftermarket seat belts in the vert ?

    Hi René,

Interesting topic, I am also wondering how I can safely accomodate my 2 kids in the konvertible for the occasional week end ride with the top down [Blocked Image: http://www.hipomustang.com/cgi-bin/cars/5F08K617591-14.jpg]

Fastbacks are a little different due to the fold down seat I guess, but there may be some kits available for them as well.

The other solution for your mate is to install a 3 point seatbelt on the passenger seat and stick his wife on the back seat lol <img src=images/icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>

    <BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>You guys are so nice. How about a group hug?<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

    Lol!

It makes a change to what you can read on the BOSS302 forum...

Every other thread there turns into a pissing match it seems.

What you can safely say is that the registry currently lists 1701 cars or 12.85% of the total k code mustang production , 165 or 9.7% of which are 1965 convertibles. From there its all guesses.

You can also say that out of 685,989 Mustangs produced for models 64.5 and 65, only 101,945 or 14.86% are convertibles. Out of the same 685,989 Mustangs, only 7273 or 1.06% are K codes. How many are both ? Few. How many of those were GT equipped ? Very few.

Its a rare car no doubt. We just will never know how rare.
