Any difference between moving at speed and going through the gears inside your garage?

    No, There is not.

I have been doing some thinking on this and I do remember having this same thing happen MANY years ago with my very first Mustang after it had been rode hard and been put up wet way before there was anyone restoring them-it turned out to be either loose mounting bolts or a VERY worn shifter I can't remember which......gotta get it up in the air and have a look-see.

I would check the shifter mount bolts and the shifter adjustment also , after a first run it may need adjustment.

Thanks! I will check the shifter first.

My car has been restored for over 2 years now, and just last week I took it for a short drive enough to finally get it into 4th gear.

The shift from 3rd to 4th is kind of weird feeling-there is no real resistance between 3rd and neutral or between neutral and 4th...I have no good/real way right now to raise the car up enough to slide under it to have a look.

My trans was completely gone through by David Kee as my car was being restored so by rights it should be ok.

My shifter was rebuilt/restored by Bill Heeley so IT should be ok.

My trans was opened up and disassembled by my restorer so it could be P&O finished, then reassembled........Any ideas on whats going on? I DO have 4th gear but it feels very limp and not crisp like the other gears.

Chris & Guys: Sorry it took me so long to finally dig out my wheels but all I seem to have are wheels with "9M" as a date code-I have 4 of these wheels most with decent to brand new "roller" or "spares"

I would think that if someone wasn't particular on date codes and needed may be just one for a spare for the trunk they could clean these up and paint with the tire still mounted for a noce looking spare unit.

Most have been media blasted to bare steel, 1 is painted.

If anyone needs 1 or 2 I'll give you one at the Natioaal in Jax next month.

I believe I've seen these but I haven't seen the boxes they came in.

I've seen the ones that are Gold on the bottom and also the Blue and yes, they seem to be well made, I don't know who makes/reproduces them.....I suspect Scott Drake though....these folks ARE trying to make quality parts for us.....

I have not heard of this as long as the disc brakes are stock/originals......I know that there is absolutely no difference with the Styled Steel wheels anyway......

Chris, I will be checking my wheels later today-just haven't had a chance until now....I have not forgotten about you!-Rick

Dave, I'm going to take a stab at this: I don't believe there is an actual adjustment on the manual choke.

You need to install the cable so that when the knob is pushed all the way in that the choke butterfly is completely open, and when you pull the knob all the way out the butterfly needs to be completely closed, so you can have full range of movement when you start the engine, espessely in your cold climate......

was some type of sealant used

between the tunnel, gasket and shifter boot?

    iowa

Never seen any type of sealant in this area, though the '66s got a lower boot on the shifter.....

e modern FL1As have a single crimp and the repros and originals have a double crimp.....I think it would be neat to be able to find out who the manufacturer is and be able to buy the repro filters before they paint or decal them up....
