The heater motor and squirriel cage are mounted to the heater casing via four nuts.Once the casing is out of the car on a bench, seperate the case ,remove the four nuts that hold the motor to the case and it will lift out . No real problem once you get the case on the bench. If you have a center consol it will make it a little harder getting to th plenum. the motor will be reinsalled as a unit within the case, the four studs should line up with no problem. Another pair of hands on the outside to guide them will help. Good luck...

Thanks for the advise. The M/C rebuild kit seems to have corrected the problem... Joe A...

I'm rebuilding the M/C on a 65 with disk brakes.Need the following info.
Mustang detail guide says finish should be natural gray, I've been told that MCA says Black . Are both correct?
Should a rubber seat be installed in front of the check valve? None was installed when I took it apart, but one came in the repair kit.
Brakes were not grabing, I've had the calipers and proporting valve rebuilt
and replaced pads and wheel cylinders. Still not stopping right , feels like rears only. Could the lack of the rubber seat be the problem . Hose and lines look good..
Thanks Joe A...

Gene,
Then if the Arvinode system was not phased out until April of 65 is it possible that some GTs came with this system with trumpet exaust tips? Were the rear hangers on the Arvinode system screwed into the side rails as the transverse or were they nut and bolted thru the frame rail as the GT dual exaust? Thanks for the pics...
