I purchased online a roll of 3M4508 vinyl single backed foam tape, 1/8 x 1.0, from ULINE.
Anyone ever use 3M "4508 vinyl foam"? 1/8 inch thickness in various widths is available, but is super, super expensive. It's closed cell single sided adhesive foam, for automotive use for sealing between uneven surfaces.
I can't think of another location on the '65 Mustang I'm restoring where this type of foam is used.
Thanks,
If I can't find a one sided adhesive tape, that's exactly what I'll do.
I'm searching for a source for the foam tape, 1" wide x about 1/8" thick, that is located between the side rail mouldings. The original foam tape I pulled off the the molding seemed to only have adhesive on one side (attached to the lower molding. Parts houses like NPD don't stock it, but recommend Scotch/3M 1" wide double sided adhesive foam tape. I think using double sided adhesive tape would make installation difficult. Anyone got a recommendations?
Thanks in advance..
Matt
So, this set-up could not have been used for a non-GT HiPo during the GT production time period?
The date stamps on the mufflers indicate GT production time-frame. I'm confused.
I've seen a concentric dimensional tolerance in the Osborne Reproduction Assy Manual, but not a hard forward or aft dimension for the trumpets. Is there another factory assy manual that defines it better?
Matt
Thanks Murf,
It seems too far to me too. I've looked at photos of quite a few GT's with varying lengths of the trumpets extending out of the valance but have not seen a documented dimension for it. The trumpets on my car are original, but the tailpipe's aren't.
Matt
Is the trumpet extending out too much in this photo? The dimension on the tape is 2-5/8 to the very aft edge of the trumpet.

I'm selling a passenger side NOS GT welded exhaust assy. I don't have the driver's side. Here are some pics of the part:
I'm not fond of eBay, so it's not for sale anywhere but here.

There's a pic of a motor on this website that shows 2 brackets installed. When I took my car apart, it only had one bracket on the forward side of the mount. Should there be 1 or 2 brackets?

Interestingly, not many call it a bellcrank anymore, even the catalogs refer to it as an equilizer bar.
I'm searching for a drivers side NOS GT exhaust assy (intermediate pipe/muffler/tailpipe/resonator weld assy) for my '65. Reason being is I have a NOS passenger side assembly already. Here's a link to a pic of the one side I do have:

Here are 2 pics of my alternator from my early June '65 Dearborne Mustang. The stamp is very faded, but definately orange.

Thanks for the reply.
I found them in an box with unmarked box of spare hardware that came with the car when I bought it a few years ago. The inulation plugs I got from NPD, when I bought the firewall blanket, are molded plastic and really don't fit very good. They're bigger in diameter.
Sorry I only have 9.
Can anyone on the forum help me identify this plug? It's made of sheet metal, and I believe it's a firewall insulation plug but I'm not sure. A photo is on the url below:

Snake Oyl restored my original deluxe seat belts which came with my June '65 Dearborne car with the Trim Code 66.
What's your cars Trim Code?
....., how did Ford expect the caps to stay on once the customer started driving the cars? This cap was not a new design in 1965 however windshield washers were not standard until 1966 so Ford might have not had enough history of any problems. Maybe that is why Ford went to the hinged cap by 1966.

Interestingly, in the C5ZZ-17A603-B Washer Kits Ford sold before '66 there were not one, but 4 lids supplied. I guess Ford expected owners to keep the extras in the glove compartment for spares. I have a photo of everything supplied in one kit in the link below.
