Mine has 5001 hand die stamped into the left rear tooling boss of the cylinder block near the block deck surface, as Dan described in his post and as he has shown in the bottom-right picture... what is your number? I noticed that my block was cast the same day as one of your heads!

I'm just curious... I have the sister to this one and she was cast on 4C24! What is the sequence number on your engine? Mine is number 5001.

I have a beautiful one. Unfortunately, the date code is the second week of March, 6CB, 3-8-1966 to 3-14-1966, which is exactly a year ahead of your car's date! All redone and ready for show!

Hey Fred and anyone else that knows this stuff... is this a legit Hipo distributor or simply a conversion? Seems like Ford did not sell the converted parts like this until decades later. This date code seems way too early. It looks like nice work, though. Thoughts?

The block was cast on January 20, 1965, I think making it a '66 model year. Fred will know for sure! Wouldn't be original to a 64-1/2 kar...
Actually, the January 20, 1965 casting date makes it solidly a 1965 model year. Possibly you made a typing error on the year?

There is an option for "Create Conversation," but not for a PM. Nobody seems to see the alert at the top of the page when they enter the website, Fred... so they go unnoticed continually. Much better for the site to send a notification. Please turn that on, if that option is possible.
