Has anyone had experience with the spray-on product called "Lizard Skin" or know of someone who has?

I know that some of us, myself included, amend the sound-deadening materials originally supplied with our classic cars. I myself suffer from resonance due to aging ears, so a somewhat quiet cabin is desirable

There are other materials out there - this one seems interesting in that it can be applied with a gun. Since it is hidden, it should not affect those of us who want original looks.

I am close to buying and installing new black carpet for my March 65K FB w/std interior, no center console, etc. There has been lots of discussion about new carpet quality being variable and not good in general, as well a couple of suppliers who might have "good" quality. Some of this discussion has stretched back at least a year, so I am hoping that the manufacturers have been reading our posts and listening to the vendors who note our concerns.

Would folks with recent experience please comment on whether quality issues have been resolved, or are the problems still there? And, if if there is only a certain brand of carpet sold by a certain vendor, who is that vendor?

Thanks for all the details in your replies. Very helpful!

    Two more questions:

Parts numbers on the fan shroud? Date code?

If I can't locate a date-correct shroud (assuming the above), does one company sell a better repro than others? Opinions...

I would prefer an original and original brackets, so if there is one out there for sale, please PM me.

    Thanks again!

Would someone please post some pictures of a '65 fan shroud? Location and interpretation of part numbers (if any)? Location of rubber strip and detail on how it is fastened to the shroud (with staples, I have heard)?

Also, is there a difference in appearance, if any, between original shrouds and one of the repros, such as from Virginia Classic?

    Opinions and commentary are appreciated javascript:insertsmilie('<img src=images/icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>');

No, I don't have one yet. And yes, I sure would like one, prefer date code before Mar 1 65. The economy is bad but I've got cash.

Lil' Red would sure like a pump. I'd like to finish this restoration and drive. Let me know if you would like to sell one to a good home.

I am shopping for a standard, non-console 65 FB black interior carpet. There has been some discussion about declining carpet quality and how there is bad carpet out there at this time.

Has anyone had good luck in finding a quality vendor with good, concours-quality carpet? If not, does anyone have the carpet I need?

Is there an archived reference or mag article out there regarding restoration of the interior plastic? These are the rear seat area pieces for a FB.

My pieces all have wear scratches, some rather deep. I think they are restorable but I want to do them right.

I emailed Eaton and they said that they could supply the springs but cannot stamp in the Ford part number on the bottom leaf. They suggested that the bottom leaf from the original be used if a part number is desired.

Mine were shot and got thrown away. Does anyone have a picture of where this part number was? I'd prefer to stamp it on a new metal leaf than use an old flexed-out piece of leaf spring (yes, spring steel does have a useful flex life, after which it is basically ready for the kiln and recycling).

Are there suspension parts, front and rear, specific to the K-code, or are they generic to all Mustangs of similar vintage?

What company makes the best and most authentic reproductions of suspension parts?

I have a March 65 car. Would the argent vs. black wheel debate apply to mine as well in a concours judging, and would I be penalized for the "wrong" choice?

I have yet to puchase my wheels. I'd appreciate some advice on what is correct, as March seems to be a gray month for some parts on this jalopy.

Would some Knowledgeable please chime in with a tutorial on proper K motor mounts? Pieces, pictures, years? Worthwhile would be to separate the Mustang from the Fairlane, Falcon, or whatever else received such or similar mounts for their high-performance optioned engines.

    Thanks,

Easter Bunny came and did not leave me a 3939S. I am still pining for one, rebuildable or rebuilt. My original car, lacking a pump, would be very much obliged.

If you have one that you would be willing to part with, I am restoring a keeper that I will use to drive off into the sunset with. In other words, it would be going to a good home!

When did the crimp-style fuel pump come into use on the Hipo line and when was it discontinued? Was there a production timeline that someone could comment on for our mutual enlightenment? Another question: was it the only one used on these critters, and, if so, why? If not, what was/were the other alternatives?

A discussion of the various model numbers would also be greatly appreciated by this newbie.

    Much obliged,
