anyone have a set of 65 cast iron C4ZE frame castings extra.

pics added. There is some minor pitting on the center steel section but I think not so excessive that a couple heavy coats of primer wouldn't take care of them after cleanup. I bought this fan several years ago for a Nov 65 built coupe that I sold last summer. It's been hanging on the wall in my garage since I bought it.

I have an original K-code fan, not sure on the date.

Only obvious # looks to be:

    ?11960

    065

This is under the FOMOCO on one of the blades

    <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>Can you check again on the 065? Could it be a C65? M65 would be Dec 65.

my guess is probably $1200.00 as is stated in the ad - but that is just a guess lol

I"m confused. A code GTs didn't all have this type of snubber plate did they? I thought this was unique to the K code cars?<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>I know for a fact 66 A-code GTs (at least some) had this plate as I have a friend who has two and they both have it. Don't know if it's unique to a certain plant, but some certainly had it. I've never looked at a non-K 65 GT to see if they also have it.

I appreciate the sentiment but I don't know how appropriate it would be until I find the time to improve the site or fix some of the issues. Don't take this the wrong way, I certainly won't refuse any contributions. It's just that I haven't been able to commit the kind of time I use to commit to the site.

I'd like to upgrade to the VBulletin boards but that would require me to convert the entire registry side of the site to php and I just don't have the time. So if somebody out there has the necessary skills to convert from asp to php as well as time to spend, I could certainly use some help.

Thanks to all who have contributed to the site both monetarily and with their knowledge and expertise of these vehicles. [Blocked Image: http://raccol.com/images/smileys/thumbsup2.gif]

The same with my car. Registry says is in system but the vin search says not found.

I originally registered my car almost 6 years ago and it was not listed in the 4th edition of the registry.

<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>If this is the case, it's most likely because it was registered with an error that was never corrected.

If they're not original, then they're reproductions. Marv had some cams ground by the original supplier using the original specs and he correctly identifies them as reproductions. Same goes for the counterweights.

The difference is the quality and accuracy of the reproduction. We've all seen items that were close, others that were dead on and some that were just way off. I've not personally inspected one of these new rear housings. But until someone provides some comparison as to how they differ from the original, I'm willing to trust what the gentleman claims. I believe if they weren't as claimed someone would have very quickly pointed out any disparities.

So back to the OP, I haven't put a lot of effort into tracking the price of rearends lately. I've casually noticed a couple originals in the 1500 range since last summer (neither had bumper plates). Add to that the value of paying someone else to restore and I'm guessing that's the ballpark of the value. It could range anywhere from $2000 to $3000.

Remember, something isn't necessarily worth what one person was willing to pay. It's only worth what anyone in the market for said item is willing to pay. We've seen too may times an item on ebay go for a premium because of bidding wars. Then the next week someone with a similar item looking to cash in ends up being disappointed because theirs didn't command the same premium.

With the limited supply of these in the condition 6hypo5conv describes, he could pretty much set any price he wants. But given current economic conditions and possibly the absence of multiple aggressive/impatient buyers, he may have to be willing to sit on it for while.

There's an easy way to find out. Take an item and put on ebay with a reserve much higher than the expected sale price. It would need to be posted for 10 days ending on a Sunday night that's not a holiday weekend or some big event like the superbowl. It would need to be well described with lots of detailed pics. The final bid will give us an idea of what it's worth AT THAT TIME. If there's enough interest it may surprise us all. If not, the poster would be out some fees but would have a good idea of its value.

so am I. maybe I missed it, but I don't think anyone is paying any where near that for those clones, especially right now. I've noticed a couple complete original rear ends in the $1500 range in the last few months. That would be the starting point and add the price of the rebuild. Remember, we're talking an open rear end. A 66 with traclock would add several hundred to that.

If you think it's worth more, then ask what you think it's worth. If multiple people contact you about buying at your asking price, then you're right and I'm wrong. There's always a chance someone is in the market AND willing to pay your price.
