The Klassifieds Section is intended to be a market place for eKschange members, and active, constructive participation in the other forums is a requirement to utilize this section. It is NOT intended to be a place for commercial sales, nor is it intended to be a member's personal online ads where it is the only place s/he posts. Twenty posts here, and one post elsewhere won’t cut it. If you join the forum only to post items for sale, expect your post to be removed, and a warning sent to you via PM or e-mail from a moderator or administrator. Continued failure to comply with these guidelines could result in the loss of posting privileges.

Posting here simply to link to a post on another site or to an open auction is not allowed. If you're going to use our bandwidth, then please post the item, along with all details here.

Do not post any "Bumps", "BTT" or other posts that serve no purpose other than to have your item flagged NEW. All it does is clutter the board, slow down the database, and waste bandwidth. If someone is interested, they will find your part.

    Other rules:

    • All ads should be placed in ONE appropriate forum.
    • All items MUST be priced! If not sure what something is worth, go high and state best offer. Most folks here keep current with prices and are not likely to be too far off on an offer.
    • Don't comment if you think someone is asking an insane amount. If you don't like the price, don't buy it. Sellers will realize their price is out of line when they don't receive any offers.
    • Don't sabotage someone's ad. It's okay to ask for clarification, point out errors, provide constructive feedback.
    • You MUST have current contact information to sell on the eKschange. If your contact info is invalid, your posting privileges will be suspended.
    • Once your item is sold, DO NOT delete/edit the original title, ad text, or asking price. Leaving the ad in place after a sale is protection for both the buyer and seller, and also acts as a price reference for others. Edit the title and text of the ad or post a reply to mark it "SOLD".

Disregarding any of these rules may result in the suspension of your account.

Lastly, all buyers/sellers acknowledge the eKschange has no liability whatsoever for any transaction, does not provide legal advice, and does not get involved in dispute resolution.

Thanks in advance for your cooperation.

It's been a while since this topic has been active...If your browser isn't set to the "SHOW ALL TOPICS" option, many newer members have no doubt missed reading this thread.

In light of certain disgruntled members who have recently expressed their impatience and frustrations here, please remember that the site is maintained by a volunteer effort that has worked hard to make this site available day in and day out. Yes, there are still bugs in certain sections of code (that used to work perfectly with the former servers we used), and it mainly impacts the Registry update process online. New VIN numbers are still maintained by Marv Shaner, but they can not be uploaded to the site due to certain technical code problems that continue to exist between the site and the server. As webmaster Hank Doby (RacCol) has stated numerous times, this is NOT A SIMPLE PROBLEM. If it was easy to fix, it would have been done already...

The expense of operating the site is paid year after year by the site owner (and Registry Steward). Would you believe this site has been online almost NINE years already? Any donations will be appreciated. You can do this by using the PayPal link located in the upper left side of this page.

Probably having ALL the correct and numbers-matching parts will make a difference in the car's value, especially if it is recognized by an "independent" body such as MCA or AACA. A Mustang that has earned MCA Gold Awards or the AACA Junior and Senior Awards represents a car with outstanding authenticity and details that will be valued appropriately in today's marketplace.

...Someone has several hundred of our K code VINs, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, car descriptions and everything else that you may have entered and refuses to share this with anyone. Its also scary because we all entered that data in good faith hoping that the information would be shared with others, not hoarded in someones own, private hard drive.

Information such as an owner's name, address, phone number, etc. is NOT something that should be made public under any condition. The purpose of this Registry is NOT to be such a source of private information. I don't think anyone here wishes to have their privacy violated in this way by others who want to know, no matter how good the intentions are. To be precise, (your) personal information is used for registration purposes only and will not be shared with any third parties.

After all, the original one already has 1,490 cars in it so there would be no point in republishing all of those numbers. Part 2 could start at number 1,491 and would include all of the cars that have been floating around cyberspace since 2006 and any new people that also were interested in having their car in the part 2 part of the registry.

Actually the number of cars in the Registry is 1728 cars, with approximately another 100 pending final approval.

That seems well within the expected... Keep in mind that the scheduled build date is not always the actual build date. In your case, I'd say the car was probably built around the end of the month of January 1965.

What does the speedometer have to do with miles per gallon? It's the odometer that counts, and again, I use my GPS to see what the actual mileage is. The GPS unit also tells me how fast I'm going so I can verify that I'm speeding.

OK...GPS wasn't mentioned in the original explanation of how to calculate the exact miles traveled. As was mentioned above, the odometer is driven by the speedo cable (and gear) that connects to the transmission. Unless the odometer is known to be accurate, the true mpg calculation will be incorrect using the "conventional" calculation method based on odometer readings. Even with the correct speedo gear (and rear axle ratio), different tire size (diameter) will influence odometer accuracy.

...the only way to accurately measure gas mileage is to fill the tank to the top of the filler neck. write the mileage on the odometer down and drive around until close to empty and refill all the way to the top of the neck subtract new mileage from old mileage and divide the mileage by the gallons it took to fill up the second time.

Of course, that assumes your speedometer and odometer are dead on accurate. ;)

Ever since the site switched servers several years ago, the process of adding cars to the Registry online has been compromised. Subsequent changes made by the server caused the problem, and they have not provided any explanations or solutions to correct it. This is not a trivial problem, and so far it has not been solved.
