Can't believe someone paid so much for so little...
I can understand your situation, and would be happy to help if I lived near there. Let's see if anyone here lives near enough and can offer an assist.

Where in the car did you find the sheet?
Jack
Taped to main harness behind guage cluster...
That's a typical place to find a build sheet on a Metuchen-built car. So far, I've found two build sheets in mine. One was neatly folded and tucked under a seat cushion spring, and the other one was taped to the wiring harness like yours was. Great stuff!
Quote from StephanI will look for a second build sheet this weekend.
Just curious, what assembly plant built your car?
Quote from StephanI really like this new exhaust system you guys re-created, but I guess it would be really incorrect for my 13J build date?
The Arvinode exhaust system was discontinued in early 1965, so it wouldn't be "correct" for a 1966 Mustang, but that doesn't mean you couldn't put one on your car...
QuoteFate can be a funny thing...All of a sudden, this dude from a lawn service truck comes over and starts asking me the usual questions. We chit chat for a while. Then he says: "Are you interested in a NEW IN THE FORD BOXES set of open letter Cobra aluminum valve covers from 1967?"
Dude is into Model T's, and the valve covers came in a boatload of Model T parts he got from the estate of some Model T dude who died. He also said "It's got a sticker in the box, too, just like this one (pointing to my air cleaner). A hundred bucks for them?"
I'm meeting with him tomorrow to do the exchange. Gerry
Great story, Gerry. It reminds me of the first time I made a purchase of an NOS part for my former '65 Comet Cyclone. It was way before the days of the internet, and Hemming's Motor News was THE place to find car parts of all kinds. A guy who lived a few miles from me had a listing for an NOS Comet Cyclone grill. His price was $25.00. I contacted him immediately, and we arranged to meet at his house to make the purchase. When I asked why he was selling such a unique part, he told me it came by mistake with a large group of American Motors parts that he bought. He was an A-M guy who bought and sold NOS parts, and the rare '65 Cyclone grill had no value to him. He was happy to see me put the large Ford box in my car and take it off his hands. Let's hope you can "help" that Model T guy get rid of the Cobra valve covers that he has no interest in.
Quote from noelfisherI'll just say thanks to you guys, Hank and Marv. You've helped make me a happier guy. My hours in the garage and on this, my favorite site, together have helped get me through some difficult times.
That's nice to know, Noel...
Quote from pagsbjthanks, did not realize the web site was supported by the book sales.
It's OK...Most around here don't realize what the costs of running a real website are. There is a charge that has to be paid every month to keep this site on the Internet. Since there is no "membership fee", these costs have to be paid for by Marv from his own pocket. A modest profit on the sale of The 289 High Performance Mustang book is one way to help him recoup the money paid for re-printing the book and keeping this site open. Read this for more info.
The answers to your ALL your questions (and then some) are contained in the Fourth Edition of The 289 High Performance Mustang, which is available directly from this website. Your purchase will also help keep this website going. Click here to purchase your copy
Quote...I dont have the 65 dated radiator...I found someone who does have it, but he wants five kids and two wives and they both have to be red heads for it...LOL...
That's funny!
Nice collection of small block Fords...Can't beat the colors, either. Gotta love the sound of an American V-8 in a small British sports car.
Great pictures. Your car looks good! Thanks for posting them here.
