If you look at the pictures in the actual auction you will get a kick out of the park brake return spring. It is stuck into one of the seat access plugs.

I need to remove my seats to put in a console. Is it right that I have to remove these plugs to gain access to the seat bolts? I know it's a stupid question, I love cars, but know nothing, well not about these things anyway.

BTW, the coil is going great guns.

    Hi all.

My car originally had a FL console when it was first bought. When I bought it, it was gone. I have now bought a new repo and was wondering about how to install it. Do I have to remove the seat to put it in? If so, do I have to remove the seats from under the car?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, especially pictures if available.

    Regards,

    René

You can order the Goodyear 695-14 Polyester 7/8 whitewall tire from Universal Vintage Tire in PA for $130.

Goodyear Integrity is a whitewall radial that looks strikingly similar to this tire although the whitewall is .5. Tire Rack has this tire and it may also be available at your local tire dealers.

    Here's the stupid question:

Are Polyester and Radials the same?

Also, I'm in Australia and they don't ship outside the US and Canada. They don't look like real good driving tyres.

The repros are generally sold with the dark color that is incorrect for early cars. If your car was built in early 65 to be correct you will need to have argent instead of charcoal.

Mine is an April 65 K, does this mean it should have argent colour centres?

    Thanks.

    Hi all.

What are the chances of anyone having 4 original 1965 Steel Styled Wheels for sale? Someone here in Australia told me that he knows someone in The States that has 8 in the original boxes, but he wants $1500 USD for each rim, ouch!!! Are these prices about right? I guess thery are 42 years old. Maybe I should just buy some Scott Drakes instead.

    Regards,

    René

    Hi Scott.

Sorry to hear about all the problems you've had. That would take a lot of the fun out of finding the kar of your dreams.

I'm not sure if you can still do this on ebay, but when I knew a listing was bogus, I emailed the highest bidder about the obvious flaws. He asked the right question and the seller withdrew the car from sale (probably sold it to some other sucker)

It would pay to keep an eye out. Just my two cents worth.

Good luck in the future, I hope you find your K.

    Best regards,

    René

I have been looking around the web sites for a little while now (Ebay, Hemmings, Collector Car Trader, Cars Online) for a show quality K code GT convertible.

4 speed Manual with matching numbers etc.

    Hi Pete.

Welcome to the site. I bought my K through a member here and it's a real corker!! Best thing to do would be to put a "Wanted" add under K Mustangs Klassified forum. I don't know what your budget is, but there was a member selling a 66 GT K in Ivy Green awhile ago, his asking price was around $50K USD. For the car you are looking for, be prepared to spend big bucks. Personally, I'd feel more comfortable buying a car through this site than from eBay.

    Good luck.

    Regards,

Back again, but what happened to the motor ?

    From the ebay spiel

The engine and transmission are freshley rebuilt. The engine was built with a Holley Avenger kit, but the current owner had it removed and returned to stock condition.

Did 64.5 K's have a blue engine block like the 66, or is it supposed to be black like the 65?

We've seen a lot of nicely restored K fastbacks with correct powertrains sell for under $40,000 that are better deals than this one.

Are sub $40Kfastbacks that have been restored with all the correct parts still available? Does the GT package put it over this $40K? Where are they?

I am the original owner -- bought in '66 --sold in '77 --- bought back in '81!

    Hi Dave.

Cool story the original owner and the third owner as well. Welcome to the forum, there's a lot of friendly, knowledgeable, helpful people here. Nice to hear a K as a daily driver. I would do the same with mine if I wasn't so petrified something would happen to it.

    René

    Hi all.

Does anyone know any info on this one? I have sent an email to the seller requesting extra pics and info. I love the colour and shape, hopefully I can find out more information.

    Hi Jerry.

Have a read of this link, it will tell you where the VIN on the block should be. You will have to crawl under the front end on the passenger side around the battery area. It will be easier if you could get the car on a hoist.

    http://www.hipomustang.com/hpmx/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5462

The VIN on the trans is quite easy to spot. Again if the car is on a hoist it's easier. If it's on the trans you cannot miss it, it's clearly visible.

The best bet would be to talk to maybe Ron on the phone.

    Good luck and best regards,

    René
