    The seller is listing this as remanfactured however it is actually new. Ford had a fair number of Ford Authorized Remanufacturers around the country "back in the day". They remanufactured everything from fuel pumps to short block and long block engines. Being as they were remanufacturers, they depended on being able to acquire cores. There are two examples of cores that were mostly unavailable from the outside. One was the Hipo 289 pressure plate and disc, which was also used on the Boss 302, and this fuel pump. Ford supplied new parts for these and they were sold as remanufactured with a core charge. In all my years with Ford, I never saw an actual remanufactured Hipo 289 pressure plate or disc, although they were clearly marked as remanufactured. The remanufacturers were never going to get these fuel pumps as a core because Ford never built the cars that used them.

    I have a pair of Hipo 289 cylinder heads that were removed years ago from a 1965 K Code fastback that was made into a track car . I pictured the casting part numbers and date codes . Right side C4ZE 9430 A / date code looks to be B 16 5 and the Left side C3OE 9431 B / date code looks to be B 9 5 . The one owner car I got was built April 8th 1965 and sold May 5th 1965 so if that B means February it seems to be correct for that car . It sure is hard to read and a B could sure look like an 8 but these were with other original takeoff parts . They look real nice to me and no cracks or heavy pitting . Was always a Southern California car and did not live by the beach . Do your own research and contact me with any questions , see that last picture . I am listing for local pickup only but if you contact me and we discuss shipping options first then I will ship . I do not like to ship expensive items before talking , I had a bad experience once ( but it was a Corvette guy ) LOL . I am listing these local also .

    Here we have an original 14 inch Air Breather Base and double dimpled Chrome Lid for a 64-66 HiPo 289 Mustang or 67 & Litre Galaxie. You will find these pieces to be far heavier in design than the reproduction models and when properly restored, to be exact in every detail for that classic original restoration. Real deal parts are hard to find & yes the extra pictured are for sale.

    We feel that in the condition we are offering this item, that if you have an unrestored or Driven Class, the condition of this unit will probably be acceptable, although if yours is a Concours or Thoroughbred you will probably rechrome and repaint. Original parts for original cars, can't do any better than that, can you? Let us know if you need a single part or have another need.
