A HP distributor is C5OE-12127-E. What is shown ib the e-bay link is the housing casting number. (They all have that number.) Plus the Ford part number, the "C5OE" portion, looks "altered".

I noticed the messed up casting when I posted this distributor. I figured that it would be the basis of some discussion as it has turned out to be. The actual correct engineering number is a C5OF 12127 E. The casting number of C5OF 12131 B is correct for a dual point small block distributor without vacuum advance. The single point distributor has a C5OF 12131 A casting number. Therefore it is NOT, as I first suspected, a single point converted to a dual point. The actual Ford part number of C5OZ 12127 E will never be used on a distributor but will be on the packaging and the Ford MPC. This one has what appears to be a C8ZF 12127 with a possible J or poorly stamped E as a suffix. I will need to consult a friends early 1968 model year MPC to see if such a distributor was listed for the planned and not released 1968 Hipo 289. These listings in the Ford MPC were ONLY in the initial printing of the MPC at the introductory time of the 1968 model year. Being as Ford did not release the 1968 Hipo 289, all references to the 1968 Hipo 289 were eliminated in later issues. Ford did produce the heads, intake manifold, 2 different carburetors (one for manual and the other for automatic transmission), the harmonic balancer and the fuel pump. All of those pieces with the exception of the fuel pump ended up being used by Ford as service parts for earlier Hipo 289 engines. The fuel pump was NOT a service part as it has a 3/8" inlet nipple rather than the 5/16" inlet nipple of the 1966 and 1967 pumps. I have had and still have all of these Ford 1968 Hipo 289 parts. The only thing that throws this distributor off as being for the 1968 Hipo 289 is the February 1967 date stamp.

I did check with my friends early 1968 Ford MPC today. There is no specific 1968 Hipo 289 distributor listed for the proposed engine. There was a C7ZF 12127 J engineering number for a 1967 Hipo 289 with Thermactor emissions (California only) and that is likely what this distributor began life as. Someone apparently tried to restamp this to a more useful number and failed miserably.

I have a pair of Hipo 289 cylinder heads that were removed years ago from a 1965 K Code fastback that was made into a track car . I pictured the casting part numbers and date codes . Right side C4ZE 9430 A / date code looks to be B 16 5 and the Left side C3OE 9431 B / date code looks to be B 9 5 . The one owner car I got was built April 8th 1965 and sold May 5th 1965 so if that B means February it seems to be correct for that car . It sure is hard to read and a B could sure look like an 8 but these were with other original takeoff parts . They look real nice to me and no cracks or heavy pitting . Was always a Southern California car and did not live by the beach . Do your own research and contact me with any questions , see that last picture . New Old Stock - Genuine FoMoCo Ford - Turn signal Switch for the Early 1964 1/2-1965 Mustangs with Generator.

This original FoMoCo turn signal switch is in very good - NOS - condition. It has 7 wires on the switch - all are still flexible - no cracks - all terminal ends are in place. The plastic mounting plate is intact - no cracks. All connections are secure. The original FoMoCo paper tag is still in place on the wires. It has never been installed in a vehicle. Original box included.

These original aluminum Ford 289 emblems are in good - NOS

- condition - but each showing light scratches on the bright aluminum - & 2 tiny areas of black paint loss on one of the emblems - check out the photos. The emblems are bright & straight - no dings visible. Each is approx. 4 1/2" long - pins are 2 1/2" apart. 2 mounting pins on each - 2 push-on clips are in each package. Each is marked with the FoMoCo logo as well as the Ford engineering # on the back. 2 original Ford boxes included - there is tape & writing on one of the boxes.
