LOL, I'll bet that hipo vette made a few heads turn in its day when it walked away from the chevy powered cars. Got any pics?

Since this is an internet forum there are members from all over the globe. We try to meet up whenever and wherever we can but has been difficult to get more than 4-5 K's together in one spot. The most I've seen in one place was at the 40th in Nashville and at MCA's 30th at Birmingham. As much as I'd like to make Carlisle it's just to far away. Hopefully we can get a large gathering of k's at the 45th.

Welcome to the forum!

Heck of a deal!

I dunno, but that inner fender VIN stamp sure looks suspicious...

As does the damper. Looks to be a nice car but I'm not so sure of it's K heritage.

If you are doing a concours restoration none of these wheels would be appropriate.

You do realize the repros should be available from any of the mustang vendors.

NPD's part # for the alternator belt is 8620-20 @ $19.95

There appears to be two diffent belts for the power steering depending on whether the pump is an Eaton. The Eaton pump part # is 8620-49, the Ford pump part # is 8620-50.

I just noticed the Eaton pump was only used in 65 so for your 66 you need the 8620-50.

I've got one just exactly like this one (except it has the correct crimp clamps) that I paid $10 for a couple years ago. At current rate of price increase for parts it'll be worth $500 by then...

I think that Don may be onto something here. I do not remember diesel motor oil being discussed on this forum before.

-Fred-

It's been discussed quite extensively over on VMF. From what I've picked up and somewhat digested it's a viable alternative for now but much of the newer diesel oil is also lacking in zinc content. I don't recall the SE ratings to look for.

My thoughts exactly. Can't you buy a black cap to fit it?

Same here... Tony's book is not the bible when it comes to paint markings as they can be different from different plants and nowhere can I find where the book indicates which plant the listed paint markings come from.

While we are on the subject I'm getting ready to do a driveshaft for a January 66 DB kar. Any info on driveshaft markings?

I believe that is a 1965 Dearborn car.

Uhmmmm, I don't think so. It's supposed to be a Shelby so that would make it a SJ car.

Krylon Semi Flat Black is awful close...

Time to bump my insurance coverage again....

To follow up on my transaction with aboss...

Sent a replacement very quickly. Replacement was better than the original piece received but basically junk as well. Not sandblasted like the 1st and no cracks but still had dings and pits in the critical seal area. I'm returning for a refund this time.

They seem to be good to work with but I think the quality of their used parts is down to what is left after getting to the bottom of the pile.

If I don't post any further to this thread then I got my refund ok. I do take difference to the previous post that they don't sell junk though cuz what I got (both times) was definitely junk.

I'm still interested...

Never mind, I found a phone number.... still can't get ahold of him though, all I get is an answering machine.
