Carter Carburetor AFB-3259S (primary) and AFB-3258S (secondary) 2-4V (a.k.a. dual quad) carburetor sets.
These models were introduced for a 1962 model year Chrysler 300H car with 413 c.i.d. engine. They got adopted by Shelby American in September 1963 as a regular production option in new Cobras street and race. Ford Motor Company picked them up in 1964 to include in their version of 2-4V induction “COBRA KIT” for over-the-counter sales. Chrysler was selling loose service replacements still through their Direct Connection™ program in the 1970s.
Carburetor manufacturing dates known so far range between June 1961 and May 1969.
I am hunting samples of both models manufactured at any time in 1962 or 1963. If you have any made in those years, I would appreciate you making contact and sharing pictures of all sides including top and bottom. I am building a table of what components and finishes were used during which production runs. (There was not just one assembly revision level per model but several.)
Thanks for looking.
