Here is an Ebay auction for a used C3AE bare block by Ebay member "jollyroge" with a starting bid of $0.99:
Original 289 Hi Po engine block 5 bolt 289 Cobra Fairlane C3AE-6015-N . Here is an original 5 bolt 289 Hi Po block. This block is standard bore with matching main caps. It has a part number of C3AE-6015-N with a casting date of 3C14( March 14th 1963). The machine or assembly date is 3D05 April 5th 1963. This block has had a repair to the back water jacket area . This is common place for these blocks to crack if they get cold. It has been professionally welded and it is good to run. We have built many engines including for racing with the same repair and is not something that can be seen once the bellhousing is on. Otherwise an unmolested early 289 Hi Po block that has light surface rust on it because it has been sitting for decades but no heavy rust that would prevent a nice clean over bore. I ran a tap through all of the holes .It may have come out of a 289 Cobra it has the engine number of “549” stamped on the drivers side rear pad. This block would be correct for Cobra , Fairlane , Comet , Falcon , Sunbeam Tiger or any 5 bolt block application . The genuine 289 Hi-Po main caps alone are worth 1200.00-1500.00 . Very hard block to find and if you need one or think you may need a spare for your car don’t pass this up! Winner will pay for truck freight on a small pallet . Good luck bidding!

There are no sleeves in this block. It is just very dirty from sitting for decades. Should clean up at .030 bore
