6F09K Black on Black Pony

  • <BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote> Regretfully I must sell my 1966 Mustang GT Fastback. This is a real Hipo!! This is a decision my wife, son and I made in just the last couple days so I’ll try to be as clear as possible on the details. I’ve own this car for about 12 years. It has a clear Pa. title but the car was built in Dearborn Michigan and was sold to the Davenport Iowa district. It is a black exterior car and is coded originally with a black PONY interior. I have the original door plate with the ser # and codes. Mechanically, as you can see in the photos the correct HiPo engine is rebuilt and ready to install. It was rebuilt by a Ford Master Technician. It has the correct date coded heads that were rebuilt to factory specs, correct date coded 4V intake manifold, correct date coded dual point distributor, correct HiPo manual choke carburetor (not in photos) that has been rebuilt. “open letter” Cobra valve covers which are authentic “buddy bar” castings. Also not seen on the photos is the correct aluminum fan. The trans is the correct HiPo close ratio 4 speed with the correct original shifter. It has the correct 9” “open” rear. It has the correct steering box and manual front disc brakes. I have an NOS Ford exhaust system including H-pipe and NOS trumpets. ON TO THE BODY: The rear quarters as you can see on the photos are NOS. The rear light panel is also NEW FORD, the doors included are original Ford and they are perfect. The front fenders are NEW FORD, the hood is NEW FORD, the trunk lid is an original Ford and it is perfect. NO aftermarket exterior sheet metal! The car has no existing rust, all you see is surface that practically rubs off. The photos show that the driver’s floor is installed and the passenger side remains to be installed. I took great detail in installing the drivers side floor in a way that after “finished” you won’t be able to tell it was replaced, right down to the correct spot weld spacing according to the original Ford body builder’s manual. The passenger side is all but ready to install in the same manor. The rear quarters, new inner and outer wheel wells, trunk floor sections are bolted and /or tack welded in place ready for final alignment and final welding. The front engine compartment area is ready to go in epoxy primer. The front and rear bumpers are Ford NOS. The gas tank to be installed is new. Included is the full set of tinted glass, including a new correct Carlite windshield. The original Styled Steel wheels are included. TO THE INTERIOR: The PONY SEATS are recovered except for the drivers seat (I was in a jam with another car years ago and used the seat, but I have a nice one ready to be recovered). The dash pad and PONY door panels are new. The original rear panels are nice and not all cut up. I have the original woodgrain steering wheel. I have the original 8,000 RPM RALLY PACK. The car was not equipped with a console. I have the complete fold down rear seat but you will need to replace the chrome trim. I have all kinds of “odds and ends” that either came with the car when I bought it or that I collected over the years. I can’t say for sure if I have every single part that you will need to go back together but I do know that I have all the rare stuff and what’s left is all available.

I truly never intended to sell this car. I’ve owned 2 HiPo’s in that past and when I found this one, I said I would never sell it…but life sometimes changes things. I have so much I can tell you about the car and except for minor questions, I would prefer if you would call me at 717-228-9594 to talk to me if you are serious. You are also welcome to stop to see the car, it is in a dry, well lighted garage. To some, this might look like a “project” but to others like me that know these cars, it’s a “Diamond in the Rough” Thanks and good luck.
