    Hello all,


    I just purchased a solid restorable fastback K-code. I paid $2,000 for the car (sans original motor and trans) and $750 for a fresh rebuilt '68 302/.30 over and a boat load of parts from carpet to seats to .....


    The car is solid, needs lower quarters, front floor pans. I was thinking it is a find due to the k-code status.


    Question: Do I need to find THE exact motor and tranny that was in car for best value? Or can I get one of that year? (Car's parents went through a nasty divorce - he got the body, she got the motor and trans.)

    Congratulations on your find.

    Suggestion, try to buy the motor

    and transmission from the woman.

    If not possible, I would try to

    find the correct motor and trans as

    a K code without the correct motor, in my opinion,

    is just another Mustang.
