Engine color

    I have a 65 K kar with a build date of August 20, 1965. I've had the kar since 1982 and bought it from the second owner with 84,563 miles. Last week I pulled the engine apart and found that it had never been apart before. The only thing I don't under stand is the engine is painted blue and not black. The kar was built in San Jose. What do you think? Thanks, Al.

    The year you stated is about the time they were building 66 model cars.Check the usual assembly dates on heads,deck,data plate etc.and find out if it's that late as it might have been painted blue.If not look under the blue to see if there is any black paint.
