I have been trying to locate the original owner of my ’66 K Code. Marvin Jones of Winter Park, Fl. was the original owner. I found out he passed away years ago. I also found out he was a friend of Carl Weisinger. Carl owns Speedworld Dragstrip in Orlando. I spoke with Carl. He remembered Marvin and used to drag race against Carl back in the 60’s. .He also remembered that Marvin drove and raced many high performance Fords back in the 60's and 70's, he even remembered him driving a ‘66 Mustang.

Here is a list of all owners:

Original owner: Marvin Jones, Winter Park Fl, owned the car in 1966

2nd owner: Tom Neeley, Orlando, Fl, owned the car from late 1966-1975

3rd owner: Steve Meeks, Deland, Fl, owned the car from 1975-1998

4th owner: Fred McHugh, Deltona, Fl, owned the car from 1998-2000, Fred never drove

the car he bought it to restore, never did and sold it to me.

    5th owner: Myself, 2000-present

So the car has had 5 owners since 1966 and all have been within a 40 mile radius of Orlando. All owners except for Marvin are still around (I have all phone numbers) and each of them are willing to share information they have about the car. I thought it was pretty neat to speak with them about the car and hear some of their "war stories".

I've traced previous owners of my 66 K Koupe back to a Mr Neely who bought it from a Marvin Jones in Winter Park Florida in late 66. He told me that Jones bought it straight from Dearborn (my car does have a Dearborn DSO) and that Jones bought Mustangs from 65-67 at a discount straight from Dearborn and was in a regional drag racing program partially sponsored by Ford. Jones supposedly raced throughout Florida from 65-67 and kept each Mustang anywhere from 3 to 6 months before selling them. I spoke to a friend who owns several Ford dealerships in Georgia and Tennessee and he told me that Ford was involved in different drag racing programs and that it was possible the info I got was correct. Anyone heard of this type program and any idea how to trace if a Marvin Jones was connected to it???

I've decided to sell my K Koupe...Price is $22,000. Pics can be seen at: http://www.cars-on-line.com/34287.html

<BLOCKQUOTE id=quote><font size=1 face="Verdana" id=quote>quote:<hr height=1 noshade id=quote>Ford Mustang . If you wanted to drive a cool car in the 60's, you went to your local Ford dealer and bought a Ford Mustang. If you wanted a performance car and couldn't afford a Shelby GT-350, you bought a factory Hi-Po Mustang called the "K" code! These K-codes were what Ford sent to Carroll Shelby for transformation into the infamous GT-350. This K-code was built in Dearborn on October 11, 1966 with a DSO of Detroit. The car was originally Raven Black with Red Standard Interior but was repainted red by a previous owner. This K-code is equipped w/a Factory Top Loader 4 Speed transmission, 9” rear with 3.89:1 rear gear, Dual Exhaust, Front Disc Brakes w/identity tag on the brake foot pad, correct styled steel wheels, and has a matching # 289/271 HP Hi-Po motor bearing it's original VIN # 6F07Kxxxxxx. I disassembled the motor to verify all engine components were correct, motor has less than 200 miles since put back together. The engine retains all correct K-code specific parts, correct heads, distributor, intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, carb, etc. I presently have an Edelbrock carb on the car but the correct carb that came on the car is in a box (needs rebuild kit). Original K-code Mustangs, having their original VIN identified powertrains are rarely on the market for sale. Car is listed in the K-code Directory. Call or email for more information.

    Price - $ 22,000<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

I'm thinking of selling my 1966 K coupe (listed in Registry). I've owned car for 8 years. VIN stamped block,4 spd,3:89 Rear, has had drivers pan replaced, some plastic in front corner of door bottoms and rear wheelwell, new gas tank, new radiator, fairly new interior, went thru engine to verify all internals were K components, has been driven less than 200 miles since going thru engine 8 years ago. Paint is about 5 years old. I'm unsure of value....anyone be able to give me an idea??
