If it really sold for that price, it sits well for those fortunate people who already own a k-code. It's bad news for people who are looking for a k-code. I know two classic car dealers and they have both indicated to me that they feel k-code prices are set to take a big increase in price in the near future due to the prices of shelbys.

I fully agree. A GT K code fastback just sold locally for $54,000.

The car was in good shape, but the paint was a ten-footer. K codes will go up because of the untouchable (for most of us) price of shelbys.

If the painting of Mona Lisa is destroyed, but the frame still exists, can you do a repaint of the Mona Lisa, install it in the original frame, then sell it to investors as the original painting itself?

Don't say that too loud. Someone starts a rumour and the next thing you know the market will take a plunge.

Sounds good to me. I could drop insurance value and maybe buy another car.

Start looking for cars to buy. Prices have become soft lately. And the price of gas is not helping things out either. My brother bought a cherry all numbers matching GTK Fastback last week from a guy who wanted $45k last year, and he got it for $10k less. I think if people want top dollar, they are going to have to sit and hold for a while.
