Thanks for the comments, guys! I hope to have another post next week.
There is another photo update today about the HiPo Convertible.
http://blog.virginiaclassicmustang.com/
Most of the wiring is installed. Heater box is now actually in the car. The rear part of the car is getting there-rear end assembly, leaf springs, rear valance, although some of this stuff is not shown in this particular post.
Quote from 6hypo5convBrant, You are sure coming up with some really nice stuff lately!! I am impressed for sure!! really looks like great quality stuff!!
I think that during my car's restoration that the best parts came from you!! plus, your customer service and chat cannot be beat as far as I am concerned!!
Thank you for the comments.

We have had a small, exclusive run of 65 Mustang Tail Light Wiring Harnesses without the Back Up Light Wiring made . This is just a neat little detail for a restoration of a 65 that originally was not equipped with the Back Up Light option.
We have some for the Coupe/Convertible and also the Fastbacks. All 65 and Carryover 66 GT350's would use this harness also.
Read more and see more pictures here on our Blog - http://blog.virginiaclassicmustang.com/
Coupe and Convertible is Part Number ER-5761 http://www.virginiaclassicmustang.com/65-COUPE-AND-C…TS-P140358.aspx
Fastback is Part Number ER-5771 http://www.virginiaclassicmustang.com/65-FASTBACK-TA…TS-P140361.aspx
Just posted the first video updating the progress on the '65 HiPo convertible:
Quote from rockhouse66My 9/65 San Jose FB had almost a salmon/pink looking red oxide on it before restoration. It was also on very thin (no runs and a few bare spots).
Thanks for posting that great picture. My late June '65 SJ FB is that color underneath. It also is very thin exactly like you mention.
I don't post here about every new part that comes along, but we just got a part in that I'm pretty excited about.

We finally have 65-66 Hood Moldings made in the original Ford Tooling!
You can read about them here:
There are two qualities of reproduction Export Braces available. One is very, very nice. It is just as nice as the Ford service part that used to be available.

Looking for an NOS 65-66 AM Radio Kit. I will consider the radio only also. It must be the one that starts with the "5" on the dial display.
Thanks.
Quote from k code 65Thanks for advice , Looks like Ford Blue it is then , i noticed in NPD Catalogue they only list Dark Blue or Med Blue for raylon and Nylon.
At round about what Date Period did NYLON Blend carpet come into standard fitment .
Does anyone know if the New Raylon blend fades or not !!.
Shane
Shane,
We keep the Ford Blue in stock.
I think you will start finding nylon in 1968 and up models.
Raylon is not supposed to fade.
It is just a matter of what ACC calls that particular color. If you order "medium blue" (we don't even keep that in stock), it will be a light blue color (don't know why they happen to call it medium.)
As Charles also mentions, they just call it "Ford Blue." That is the correct color for your application.
Obviously, there are all kinds of colors in this material.
...and yes, I suspect the "Ford Blue" is a lighter color than your Dark Blue color. The "Ford Blue" is what I would call a medium looking blue (not really light-not dark). Hope I'm not confusing anybody.
It is no longer 80/20 (that stuff faded) - it is now raylon. The color from ACC that I would go with is callled "Ford Blue." There are lots of different blues offered, but this is the closest for that interior, in my opinion.
There have been tons of posts on the carpet, but it is not really as bad as it is made out to be, again, in my opinion. Installing a set , like everything else on a nice, high end restoration, takes time, effort and patience.

If you have a free weekend, make a road trip to Raleigh and check the car out!

That is a great idea. Maybe I can fit that in sometime.
Probably you, Charles! ...but, with some of those parts that you still are looking for, I'm not sure.
I was hoping to see your restoration completed at VA Beach.
While our blog is not exclusively written for the restoration of the HiPo Convertible like Charles', I thought that I would at least mention it here if anyone is interested.
The posts about the HiPo are in with posts about new products, other products that we have, customer cars, etc.
The posts about the Conv. are usually fairly brief with a slideshow of pictures. Hopefully, you should continue to see more and more posts about the car now that it will actually be going back together. It will finally start looking like something!

The latest post is the engine dyno. run.
If you are just looking for HP, there are tons of ways to get more HP than any of these induction systems.
As another poster mentioned, if you are looking for the "WOW" factor, there is no substitute for the Webers.
If you want something more "correct," it may be a bit more difficult to put together correctly dated Webers, original manifold, etc.
If you just want a set of nice looking and working Webers, you may want to speak with Jim Inglese http://www.jiminglese.com/
He started Inglese Induction Systems that you mention above and sold the company quite some time ago. He is apparently back into Webers himself. I purchased a set up from him in the early '80's for my '66 GT350. I had great luck with them. I sold the car a long time ago to a friend and the Webers are still working great for him.
I have used and sold tons of 205/70 x 14 tires for 65-66 Mustangs (and GT350's) and never had a problem with the fit. Should fit and look great on a Hertz car.
