    It was a very good buy, even for a non numbers matching car. I had it listed in other Auctions prior to eBay; it never made it past the $16500.00 range; the Money just doesn't seem to be there for Coupes.

    A heads up for future research information on this car; it just shiped out and is headed to Australia...... now, to get on with the other 5 Projects Cars......I think I still have more time left than Projects!! <img src=images/icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

    Time to sell. Non Numbers Matching, Radio Delete. My third K Kar. Not a perfect car but has been a lot of fun at local car shows with several 1st Place Wins; VIN# 5F07K725468 (In Registry). Cleveland Car, I Purchased out of Texas 6 Years ago. Listed on ebay #320440029221, Has Pictures, Data Plate Info and Numbers in description. Questions? Send to McGovern33@msn.com

    Would like to see it go to someone with knowledge of these special cars. Reserve set at $18500.00

    Aging is a lot like a vintage car: Maintenance and upkeep is expensive, parts are hard to find and there is no memory. Thanks for the memory jog of which I'd forgtten about the early small block heads location for the casting numbers.

    Bob Mannels book is worth the Money!

    While detailing my K Kar for this upcomming summer and documenting parts I developed a question about K Code heads.

    The build date on the car is May 65, the engine block is also May 65... the heads are coded as follows;

    The Number 21 head is date coded 3L21, the Number 19 head is date coded 3M23, both have 3/4" screw in rocker studs indicating early heads. The question is: I cannot find a casting number anywhere on either head, did I miss something somewhere?

    There is a "K" Code listed for Lot # 321 at the Silver Auctions during Reno's Hot August Nights.

    And... if anyone is interested; check Lot # 162; the MACH I is mine and has been with me since 1974, raced sicne 1998. I do not really want to give up the MACH I but with the "K" Code (Which just took first place at the local car show) and the two 62 Fairlanes that are projects in need of additional budgeting, something has to go and the "K" Code is not an option! One Fairlane is near completion and will be a Holman & Moody Gold & Blue Colored Track Car to replace the MACH I.

    All engine internals and intake are stock "K". It has Tri Y's and Two Chamber Flowmasters. I had a C40FAL Autolite on it that took to running way too rich; the secondary diaphragm case has a broken/missing screw mount which causes a major vacuum leak, hopefully Pony Carbs will be able to repair it.

    The Holly is a 600CFM, 0-1850S, 4160. I wonder if this "Newer" Carb has some type of lean running smog specs built into the primary metering block such as is built into the Street Avenger Holly???

    Anyone out there use/used a Holly 600 (with metering plate in the secondaries) on your HiPo? If so what was the Primary Jet Size? I started out with #64 and now at #70.... the spark plugs have not changed color and are still as white and clean as if they just dropped out of the box.<img src=images/icon_smile_8ball.gif border=0 align=middle> Elevation out here is 4000'. I'm starting to think vacuum leak.

    Thanks for the help. I'll post pictures as soon as possible. I do recall seeing an orange paint marking on back. Unfortunatley it has very deep stress cracks on the clutch face.
