Kit Sparks from San Diego sold me one. Thanks, Kit.
HI guys. I'm in need of an original dual point breaker plate for my 65 Kar. Anyone have a nice one they want to sell? Thanks.
Thanks, Dave. I'll let you know if I'm successful.
Thanks, Brett. I'm planning to contact you since it appears you know the car.
Thanks, Eric for the contact in PA.

I've been a member of this site for about three years now. Mainly just reading the great comments and advise you guys post. I have a 65 K Conv. Now I'm considering doing something crazy and buying a 1966 Shelby Mustang. I know some of you K nuts are also Shelby nuts so I thought I start my pursuit by asking for your advise on this plan.
There is a Saphire Blue 66 offered for sale out of New Jersey on the Cars On Line site. S61739. I was wondering the following:
1. Does anybody have knowledge of this car or inspected it?
2. I would not buy any car without first inspecting it myself but, do you guys know of a Shelby guy in the NJ area who you would recommend that I hire to also inspect the car for me?
3. The car owner is represented by a third party called Show Your Car. Does anybody have any experiance with this company.
4. I guess lastly, I would surely listen to anybody's general advise on this idea. You won't hurt my feelings.
Thanks greatly in advance, guys.

Thanks guys for your comments. I see in Tony Gregory's 4th Ed. HIPO Mustang book he mentions a good piston replacement is the TRW Power Forged Series L-2482F. Would you guys recommend this option? Or suggest another? Thanks so much for your imput.

Thanks for your comments Round2K. I agree - keeping it stock is important. Thanks for the advice on where to get a replacement cam. If the cylinders are rebored, could I still use stock pistons? Of course my mechanic will be giving me sound advice, I'm just anticipating things. Thanks again.
Hi Kar Guys: My 65K Conv has not been running right so I took it to a local reputable mechanic. Turns out I have a cracked piston ring and several other rings that did not seat properly from a prior owner's work. Leakdown test & cranking compressions are all pretty bad. So engines getting pulled and into the machine shop for likely reboring, etc. Assuming block does get rebored some questions I have and asking for some advice are: what new pistons would be advisable; probably will replace cam at this time - whose cam would you suggest. The car is street driven for pleasure only and I want to remain substantially stock. Is there anything else you guys would recommend doing as long as everything is apart? Thanks so much for your thoughts.
Thank you, guys, for your advise. It is appreciated.

Hey Kar Nuts:
I'm thinking about installing a rear sway bar on my 65K Conv. I was wondering if anyone has used a particular make or brand that they feel does a good job on our kars. I also wonder what diameter may be recommended. I just drive the car on the street. No racing. Thanks for your adice.

Hi Kar Nuts:
I was wondering if anyone is aware of a website that offers a neat Mustang Xmas card? Preferrably a classic Mustang. Thanks guys (or gals).

Hey Guys: I just wanted to make a comment about KAR Mustangs in Columbus, Ohio. First, I have no affiliation or interest. But I am familiar with the company and the guys who own it. They are very knowledgeable and very honest. I have visited their shop and have bought parts from them. I have also inspected some of their cars for purchase but have not bought from them. They have been in the Mustang business for many years and have a good reputation. I agree, that $4500 price for a repaint sounds cheap. I would advise not to have someone paint your car a country away. I suggest take delivery of your car as is. If you're not happy with the paint then have a local guy do your work so you can keep an I on the progress. Good luck in your search. I have two K Kars and they are a blast to own and drive.
HI Kar Nuts:
Is anyone aware of a person or company that can reproduce the Autolite 4100 carburetor tag for a 65' HIPO? Thanks for your input.
Bill G
Thank you Mr. Turner.
Hi K Code Experts:
I'm trying to decipher the second row of digits on my two carburetor tags. They are "B 5AD" and "A 4JD". Both cars are 65's. I'm not sure if these represent build dates or what. If anyone can decipher these I would really appreciate it. Thank guys.

I have two 8,000 RPM High Profile Rally Pacs for sale. One with "Mustang" lettering and one with "Ford" lettering. These are originals - not repros. They are in excellent shape. The Tachman has rebuilt both including new quartz clocks. He informed me that both of the meters were in excellent shape. $450 each. Bill at 419-283-8271. Toledo, Ohio
Hi Oscart: Both of my rally pacs are black/camera case finish. The red rally pac on E-Bay is the "low profile". When mine are returned from the Tachman they will be in perfect working order with attaching wiring. I don't know yet what the price will be as I need to see what the Tachman will be charging me for the refurbishment.
Hi Oscart:
My rally pacs are the high profile style. Both are used; one is like new, the other is real nice but does show some wear. Both units are at "Gary the Tachman" being refurbished right now. Quartz clock being installed and tachs being cleaned and tuned up. Let me know if it is the High Profile you want. Thanks.
