I don't know these Kars like you guys, but if I were looking for one my finger would be hovering over the BIN button on this one. Not crazy about the black painted underside though; can't be correct on a San Jose car..??

I built a custom skid for the one I shipped. It really wasn't that expensive for the material, though I spent a bit of time putting it together (not too handy). A compact skid like this is easier to handle/transport than a full pallet. The buyer arranged for collect freight shipment to his business, and I delivered it to ABF. I don't think it was too bad though; maybe $100 NC to Louisiana.

There are two different repros that I am aware of. The one NPD sells separately is very nice IMO. Problem is, I could never get the horn parts to fit the wheel properly or work properly. The horn rim atttachment points were not indexed correctly with the spokes, so never lined up with the slots. I could see no way to fix this, and was told that "that's the way they are" so I returned it.

I ended up buying the wheel that comes in the complete kit, which is not nearly as nice a wheel, but at least all of the parts fit/work and align. BTW, I bought it elsewhere for much less money.

Sad situation actually; rare case of a very nice appearing repro being available, but other issues prevented me from using it.

Sent you a PM as I am now hijacking this thread. Sorry.

Had many Loti, [ see the book on the 7 ] only one Elan S2 '65. But these Fords are the heart of the performance revolution at

I have the book; who are you?

Jeff - my car had been repainted so all of that area was the new exterior color, covering whatever was originally there. And I am pretty sure we missed your blackout detail during restoration, though with the Ivy Green exterior color I'm not sure anyone will notice.

    Better view

BTW did yours have the "wings" (the two pieces of the inner vent bent outward) in that area blacked out?

Jeff - I don't think I understand the question, but are you talking about the "other side"?

We start seeing stripes at San Jose in the mid year of 65 production (intermixed with dots) and move towards more to all stripes as we get into 66 production there from what I see

Jeff - my 9/65 scheduled build '66 SJ car has the dots.

Tigerpaw's are "Uniroyal" brand tires. Sounds a lot like "US Royal". Perhaps somewhere along the way, it got confused by somebody.

Well, not exactly. US Royal "Tiger Paws" were on '64 GTOs, and you could buy them at your local US Royal dealer for use on any car. I found several archived newspaper ads from 9/64 promoting Tiger Paws at the US Royal dealer.

I'm not saying the redlines that my car came with were "Tiger Paw" lettered, just that the use of the phrase "Tiger Paw" to describe US Royal redline tires was pretty generic by 1965/1966, and would explain the original owner of my car noting them as such.

Question: Does this product hold enough moisture / humidity that it could possibly promote the growth of mold, mildew, or rust?

I can't imagine this being a problem. The product is a foil material with a dense mastic material bonded to it. Almost like tar and not porous.

Dynamat Xtreme is .45#/sq. ft., so in my case I probably have less than 45# of the material installed. I can't comment on the final result yet, as I have only just finished the car and have not had it on the road. The "thump test" indicates that the panels, especially the roof, are now well damped and not tinny like before. I am also hoping to get some heat insulation from this stuff on my Dark Ivy Green car. (not a kar, just an A-code)

I installed Dynamat Extreme in my '66 FB, including under the headliner. I bought three boxes of the bulk material, and had about half a box left over. The materials were something like $500 total (maybe less), purchased on eBay. I did not view that as "expensive", since I believe it to be one of the best products and I was installing it in locations that I would not be able to get to later. If you are going to all the trouble to do this, seems worth it to do it right.

I have a Ford Tooling repro green dash pad in my ivy gold/white Pony interior car; didn't realize this color is no longer listed. It might be worth calling around to a number of suppliers to see if they still have one in stock. I assume you have tried both NPD and VA Mustang?

The metal trim at the base of the windshield matches the radio speaker grill and I would say both are painted with what is sold as medium Ivy Gold metallic.

Maybe someone more expert than I (Murf?) would add comments.
