Marcus... Are you sure we are talking about the same engine?

Come on Gary, vent! Vent! OK, I'll do it: "#&$%*@!!!"
Thanks Lyle, I feel better now. LOL
Gary
Thanks for that tip Dave... that is a pretty darn slick way to do it.

Quote from MilpitasThis is strange..I own this engine now!!! I bought it a few weeks ago up in El Dorado Hills,Ca in the Sierra foothills! he tried to tell me it was a factory hipo engine as well..I had him remove the oil pan and it has stock rods with stock main caps, its a hydraulic camshaft..I gave him under $1000.00 for it...So it wasnt a wasted trip plus he did have some other cool items...
Did he offer you the pink slip and stamps with hollow star for 3000.00 like he did me.
I knew something was wrong when he wouldn't give me a picture of the bottom with the pan removed. Said he didn't have an engine stand. He knew from the beginning he didn't have a K code engine.

Quote from kar-nutAnother Nice looking K-Vert scheduled to go across the Barret-Jackson auction block. Car was on eBay & discussed on this site awhile back.....

I was looking at the radiator cap and wondering if that is original. Reason I ask is my 65 has one that looks just like it and I was going to replace it, thinking it was not correct.

To get it to the 1 of 1, the final line was "1 sent to the southeast... this is that car"
Exactly...Every car is "one of one" when you factor in all the minutia, especially if you include the particular dealer, and the date the car is delivered.
I agree 100%. If you have a truely rare 1 of 1 vehicle, you don't need a Marti report to know it.
Gary
Dave, You and Gene both bring up good and valid points. I am trying to put together a spare engine and I will be the first to admit that finding the correct parts is very hard. I guess I was just venting my frustrations.
Gary
Thanks Charles
What has to be removed so the pan will slide out after the pan bolts are removed?
Thanks,
Gary
When I read this post it brought to mind all the different stories I remembered as a young boy. All the smack talk at our local car hops, rumors and sometime true situations. How the back row was ALWAYS reserved for the hot rods.
Great Idea to do this.
Gary
Thanks to all that responded. Now I know.
Gary
On a distributor what is the date of code 5GA?
Thanks.. Gary
Charles what does it cost approximately to have a block sleeved back to standard?
Thanks.... Gary
I know someone was looking for a correct 9" housing. I think this is the correct one for a 66 or 67 mustang.

Hope this helps someone.

Mark... not trying to hijack your post but wanted to let you know I have a complete 1967 K code engine that has about 50 miles on a re-build. This engine is currently in a 1965 K code coupe that I bought and I have not had a chance to verify everything on the engine but I feel confident it will pass. Mark, what is the build date of your car? I will check to see if the engine is correct for your car. If it is, and you need an engine to close the deal or the new owner wants to buy the engine let me know.
BTW, you car sounds really nice. I would love to see it bought by someone that will restore it back to original.
Gary
Bryan.... Welcome aboard and pictures would be nice to look at. In fact, we all love pictures of Mustangs!
Gary
Ditto on that Rob!
