I received 2 each of the clutch and brake pedal pads. I have 1 original and 1 NOS brake pedal pad at home, so I'll compare them this weekend and report back, including photos. The parts have the C4ZZ part numbers on them and the baggie sticker says "Made in China". At first glance they look pretty good.

Where is that going to be?
It kills me that my car won't be ready for driving nor showing for a couple years. I don't plan to have it judged since it will just be a "driver", but I'd like to be able to show it. BTW- the Denny's in Rogers has a classic cruise night once or twice a month.

Dang. I only had one spelling word and I spelled it wrong! I'd better search the web for the Smarty-Pants Forum and use spell checker on those snarky words.
I see now that it is your eBay Motors auction. Way out of my league and not what I need, so I'll shut up.

The words SEEM to be in English... The syntax is nonsequitr...

Looks like there are some door & panel fit issues - might be a sign of poor prior resto or collision repair.

I was going to flip over my CJ Pony Parts calendar and I see that yesterday was Henry Ford's 144th birthday.
I wonder what his wife thought/said back when he was out tinkering in the garage with his first gasoline-powered vehicles. Bet that hasn't changed from today!

(Added comment: I'm not trying to be critical of anyone's paint choices or experience - just asking questions...)
I've been looking at my kar and parts and trying to decide on how I'm going to paint them. A lot of the parts on these kars were in the middle of the gloss range, but I think it is inaccurate to paint everything Krylon semigloss. It seems like the fender aprons should be a semigloss or satin.
But many things on my kar (like the front coil spring covers, ignition coil, splash shields) seem to have been much more glossy than that. Other parts like the main and water pump pulleys seem to have been flatter than that, but not completely flat. I've owned the kar for 18 years, and it sat for 9 years before that (since 1979). I do not believe there was much painting done to it during the first 14 years other than covering the Poppy Red with plain orange, though I can't be sure. It was a beat-up, greasy & rusty college-kid car.
I'm just curious what others have found on their kars. Presumably it will vary depending on when and where the kar was built, and whether a part was sprayed or dipped. I just thought I would voice this concern and re-post this little chart I found in a magazine. Ironically, the parts that it lists as having high gloss are the areas of my kar where the paint rusted completely off!

Too bad they don't make one for disc brakes.

Well, like it says on this page (Nothing could stop the 1964 1/2 Mustang (especially not its four-wheel drum brakes)):

These people who cut holes for speakers ahhhhhhhhh!!
When I got my kar, there were 2 speaker holes cut into each door, plus one big one in the rear hatch. Fortunately, 1 hole in each door was covered by the new door panels. The lower hole cut into the area below the panel, but my brother was able to fix it using a textured product that looked fine when lightly sanded.

Thanks for the responses. I wasn't sure whether I needed special paint or not... Sounds like I don't.

I don't know. My car has scheduled build of October 21, 1964 (San Jose) and has them. If your accelerator pedal does not have an indent for metal trim, your car may have originally had them.

This weekend I dug out the box that had my crankshaft pulley, water pump pulley, alternator brackets, coil... basically some of the first things I took off my engine a few years ago. I figured it would be a nice afternoon project to clean them up for painting. The smelly mouse nest in the box told me it was time to do something.
I am curious what people are using for paint on these items. The pulleys don't appear to have had engine paint on them, more of a flat, thin paint, not a glossy engine paint. I was thinking of using high-temp barbeque grill paint. Were these items originally painted on the car, and therefore should be glossy, or ?... The Ol' Yeller-top coil seems more glossy so I might use an engine paint there.
One other thing... I have an old repro fan shroud without the rubber pad. I've read the numerous previous posts about it. Is there someplace to get the staples and/or the pad, or should I just get the newer correct repro?

Just goes to show you that gas has gotten so expensive that not even Ferrari owners can afford to buy clothes!

Must be part of the "Interior Decor" or "Visibility Group" options...

Well, thanks again for the same answer, Tom!

I still don't understand why I couldn't find the post. I searched on variations of spring, seat, perch, AMK, ARP... I used advanced search and selected "archives".
I'm really surprised that I hadn't printed it to PDF, save the photos, or something... I've built up a whole pile of info that way.

I've been doing advanced search (yes, I checked "archives") looking for an old post of mine. It concerned sources for new bolts to mount the spring seats/perches to the upper control arm. Maybe I'm just not seeing it, but I haven't found it in any of my searches. As I recall, someone replied to it and linked me to a posting on VMF where someone had gotten replacement bolts from AMK or ARP.

I have the opposite situation. My '65 Kar is missing the original engine (it has a C code which I'll Hipo-ize) but it still has those early Hipo mounts and Hipo fan. I figure the original engine must have gotten blown up.

This is a general "newbie dummy" type of posting since I don't have any experience with the 'verts. It seems that when these things rust out, they always break their backs just behind the front door pillars. Other than additional rocker panel reinforcement and front torque boxes on the frame rails, is there anything the strengthens the weak firewall/kick panel to rocker panel/floorpan area? Seems like there should be added framing between the front frame rails and the rocker panels.
I also don't understand the extra braces between the firewall and the front fender aprons, since the front "box" isn't any more likely to flex than on the other 2 body styles. It would do more good if they swung them around and bolted them to the trans tunnel.
Lastly, is the reinforcement different than on non-hipo cars?

Thanks to Dave (CSXENG)for the photos. That old style grommet/seal looks like something off a horse-drawn carriage!
