Quote from C6ZZKGT
The spare tire hold down bolt is longer for a styled steel wheel so that it can be mounted face up.
That is correct; SSW spare is mounted face up with a long 3/8 NC carriage bolt and a smaller hold down plate than regular wheels.
It is nice to see a non-GT car. If the driveline is all there and correct the new BIN price is not far off.

Found a set thanks to Fred.

Thanks for letting us check your exhaust system. Your pops was pretty funny.

I need a full set of fan shroud brackets for a two row radiator. If anyone has an extra set they're willing to part with I would be grateful. Thanks.

The 66 coupe in the foreground is Ron Bramlett's all original, low mileage K. The staff of Mustangs Plus were great hosts. They put on a really fun show, shared their shop space, and even helped out with emergency repairs. There were three generations of Bramlett family members there and they were all passionate about Mustangs.

Merlyn,
I don't know if these fellows will have what you want, but they have been attending a lot of the shows and they had some early parts.
-
The seller should provide some confirmation of the hipo motor parts that are actually in the motor: there aren't any visible from the exterior.
-
Fred,
Does that one size of shroud bracket position the shroud about 3/4 to 1" away from the radiator core?
-
I recently removed a three row auto trans radiator with the DEP C4ZE 8005 part number from my car and do not believe it was original. The MPC lists a number of different possible part numbers for hipo radiators. It would be worth the effort to cross reference those numbers against both the K codes and the Shelbys. There are several listed core types in addition to the standard two row. I have always found it hard to believe that Ford equipped all of the hipos with 2 row radiators, but that seems to be the consensus.
Another question; were the shroud brackets different from radiator to radiator as well? There are aftermarket brackets sold for the larger radiators, but did Ford do this as well?
-
I'm going rain or shine!
-
-
Did these costs include any of the other parts; piano hinge, latch knob, seat rests?
-
If this is correct, that would make this car the cousin of the "Indy Pace Car" on ebay recently.
-
Mark,
If you decide to sell and one is appropriate for 12/64 I would be interested.
-
It appears that the listing is no longer available on ebay.
-
Mike,
If you have a picture of the pattern and the identifying information on the wheels send it to me and I will keep an eye out for you. I have a number of old salvage yards in my area and am constantly looking for things for other guys as well as myself. If I recall those are pretty plain wheels with other applications.
-
Nice going Jeff; add fuel to the fire for those of us who are obsessive. Now I'm going to be crawling all over the thing poking holes in the chassis because not knowing the original primer color actually has been bugging me. The PO media blasted my car inside & out. Where do you think the most likely spot would be for original undercarriage color to survive?
-
MCA rules allow red oxide, black or slop gray for painted undercarriages.
