Double rollers can be used on hipo motors but the rotating assembly has to be rebalanced to match the loss of the hatchet weight. I know that Ford used the smaller chains from the factory, but I am personally not a fan of having a lesser chain in a hipo motor.

Shucks. I thought I was on to a pair of lights! Bob Mannel sent me a reply to an earlier inquiry after I put up the post;
QuoteThis PCV valve is for the 1963-64 Fairlane/Falcon with 144. 170, 200 6-cylinder. It is probably the jiggle-pin design, which replaced the orifice design used in 1963. I am sure the only differences are in calibration.
False alarm, fellows. Address all PM c/o Mr. Idiot.
Guess I'll go flog it on the VMF to one of those 6 cylinder people.

Here is what I know about this valve:
FoMoCo box has C3DZ-6A666-C part number.
Part has Ford engineering number C4UE-6A666-A.
Plating is pretty much as you see in the photos.
It is definitely an AC valve and has what appears to be an original AC paper part number tag.
I would like to trade it for a pair of NOS fastback quarter interior lights. I did a test fit of the part on my 65 motor and it was a correct fit for the elbow style PCV hose and the grommet in the valve cover. Send PM if you are interested in a swap.

Gary - I suspect you are right about it being an older replacement for the narrow chain.

Looks like a double roller with a hatchet weight. I thought the hatchet wouldn't fit with a double roller.

I received some great images from the second owner of my car today. This is sometime in the '70s before Carlsbad raceway was closed down. Karl and Julius Knoblauch used to bracket race together as father and son.

I don't suppose Fred would want to sell it?

Very cool hot rod! I have always wanted an open wheel car.
I have a 70 MBZ 300SEL with a 3.5 liter V8 that I'm working on when time allows. It's a 4 door classic, with leather and wood interior, but the parts have become so expensive that's it is sitting now. MBZ has raised their prices to a point that NOS K code parts look cheap.

Here are photos of the final installation of the production version of the Arvinode by Waldron's installed on my car the day before the MCA Grand National Show. Special thanks to Joe Tonietto of Waldron's Antique Exhaust and all of you here on the forum that contributed to the project. Ron Stanley, the owner of Stanley's Welding in Redding, CA did a stellar job of giving me a one-piece welded installation to match the originals. NPD is carrying the system now and you can buy it from their catalog.

Very cool! I really enjoy seeing all of those original markings under the grease. Fantastic. Confirmed numbers matching drivelines - way to go!

I haven't ever seen a shroud with a date code on it. NOS shrouds pop up regularly on ebay. Fred Ballard will likely have some original brackets - send PM to c6kzzgt to get in touch with him.

Bo is correct; here is an original cable compared to the Ford NOS replacements that were used as service parts:

The earlier topic was titled "radiator & fan shroud details" on 10/27/07 but I can't seem to get it to load. The server is slow or the link may be broken. Here is the important part of the earlier exchange. Together with the images above you should have all the info.
Jim Curylo wrote these two posts with installation and part number info:
QuoteThere's not too much good news here on the shroud bracket hardware. What I've found on my 'K' car was this: the 5/16-18 nut clip that was originally installed on the radiator was put on the shroud bracket and the original 5/16-18 screw came thru the radiator support to hold the radiator to the bracket. There was a second 1/4 nut clip on the opposite end of the bracket for shroud retention with a 1/4 screw. Notice the apparent lack of specifics. Time has replaced a lot of parts. Ford assembly documentation is missing for 'K' cars so the best info is for the air conditioning setup which is also lacking. Only one of the hardware items is available from AMK Products, the 1/4 nut clip.
Here are the various Ford hardware part numbers, descriptions and use: 378180-S2 5/16-18x3/4 hex screw, washer head, serrated, lead point, radiator support, radiator to bracket - 380020-S2 5/16-18 nut clip, .96L, .67W, attached to bracket - 39881-S8 1/4-20x1/2 hex screw, washer head, thread forming, from shroud to bracket - 375803-S2 1/4-20 nut clip, 1.08L, .56W, attached to bracket What I've found for the shroud to the bracket was: - 31497-S8 14-14x1/2 hex sheet metal screw, washer head - The nut clip was the 'U' type and I don't have a part number. Anybody else got some input? Jim
And this:
QuoteMy hardware references are: - 1966 Ford Products Engine Equipment Assembly Manual, AM0156 Pg 126 for shroud to bracket installation. - 1965 Mustang Body Assembly Manual, AM0006 Pg 11 for standard radiator installation. - AMK Products Guide to Ford Fasteners, Pgs 41, 75, 149, 202 and 212. - AMK Products also lists a Radiator Fan Shroud kit, p/n F-399 consisting of 8 pieces for 1965 and a different kit for 1966, p/n F-401 also consisting of 8 pieces. I believe the items supplied are the 4 screws and nut clips that attach the shroud to the brackets. The description for the 65 hardware is 'AB' which is the sheet metal type. The description for the 66 hardware is 'T1' which may be the blunt tip 1/4-20x1/2hex screw. This implies a different type of hardware for 65 and 66 which may not be consistant with MCA rules, but MCA has been known to be wrong before. - There is a third kit, p/n F-396 consisting of 8 pieces used for both 1965 and 66, for attaching all radiators to the radiator support. Having done business with AMK, they have been more accurate with the hardware they have supplied than other sources. There are a few discrepancies in the items supplied however - they use the service parts instead of the original. Keep in mind that AMK supplies hardware and kits to most Mustang parts suppliers. Jim
Judge Jeff Speegle would want me to point out that these images are all from restored cars.

This should get you started:

Original two row bracket vs aftermarket 3 row:

65 with flat tip screw. This is the predominant installation I have found on original 65s and is different from the fastener sequence shown in the Osborn manuals. The 5/16 screws are inserted into the front of the radiator support and the U clips are on the radiator.

If you have SS wheels there is a callout in the Ford assembly manuals for semi-gloss black paint on the drums.

I advised the seller of the issue of the casting dates and he did not respond. Fred is correct with respect to the rust as it's evident in the front suspension photos as well.
