Oddly enough, Just about every 65-66 K code I see for sale has all the GT trimmings on it.
With only 4% of these being true GT's this is a little misleading.
The GT clones are abundant; it is refreshing to find a non-GT car at a show. Just like styled steel wheels; there are a lot more of them on cars than were ever delivered by Ford.

I forgot about that, thanks for the correction.

How about a fresh look at a comprehensive list of the unique K code parts and part numbers? (There are some items missing in the 4th edition HiPo book.) Here is a partial list started by jcw66k in another thread and I have added to it. Please do not include the GT and/or dual exhaust parts that would have been used with other models. Stick to K code only parts.

Brant - thanks for reproducing this much needed piece.

Send you a PM.

There will be a C clip on the inside of the yoke.

There are some pretty simple rules of the road for these boards, and being decent in the way you comment is one of them. If someone can't keep it clean board members have a responsiblity to remind them that they're out of line. Thanks for not deleting the thread and letting us rebut the comments that were out of line.

I sent a note to Coker tire together with a link to Charles' great images and blog. Coker said the NOS molds have NOT been available to them for some time, but they remain interested in coming up with a correct repro tire.

The Ford documentation confirms what you & others have seen that paint stripes do exist. It would seem reasonable that both methods of applying the part ID color code are correct & not only dots.
Many car enthusiasts seek documentation to add credibility to confirm what is presented as original. I think that sharing the Ford information helps to full fill that need.
It's always helpful to have the documentation and greatly appreciated when the information is made available to help these discussions.

It would certainly be fun to lift the hood on a barn find and discover a cammer!

the pony fraudulant carburator is all it is a fake knock off. if you know your hipo carbs you can spot their fake right off the bat. I alway try and look for the real deal yes and the part number listed are correct
"Fraudulant" is spelled fraudulent, and it is a poor choice of words. Let's be fair with vendors that produce parts and provide services to forum members, including Pony. Pony's marketing materials do no attempt to mislead people about their carburetors. They are very straighforward in the representations of the K code carb as being a clone.

Looks like they painted those springs with them laying down. Didn't Jeff have pics of some SJ cars with the runs running in that same direction?
-
My 12/30/64 SJ car has the cable on the LH side near the kick panel and the cable passes diagonally through the firewall as Charles has described.

QuoteThis is an original heater hose support from my 65 "K" car. You can see the measurements from the images. I am convinced after looking at it for over twenty years that it was made from a radiator hose of the era. Note the "alligator skin" texture and the material within the "ply's" matches that of a radiator hose, not the "old tire" material that it appears at first glance to have been a part of.

No holes in the car at all??
Some of the panels will have screw holes identified. If yours don't, before you set about the task of drilling new holes in the sheet metal you might want to double checkt to see if you can find the old holes first. Depending on the year and model you wil have either two or three holes present from the original installations. If you are comfortable that those locations are accure you can cut the heads off some old sheet metal screws and point the shafts, then use them to transfer the locations to the panel. If you crop the screws to about 3/8" in length and install them with your fingers or a small plier you can use them as a transfer punch pretty effectively.
