Yes, the fans were made by Schwitzer Corp and carry the SC marking. The fans were painted black. Aluminum never held the paint very well, so most fans will be missing most of it after 40+ years.

Ahah! Lots of us have been wondering about this for a long time.

Quentin and Tom - it was great to see you guys and your wives at Mustang Alley during the Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday... I've concluded that registering there - or at another place is the very best way to do Woodward - it is just too huge to drive in now. I tried to make my way up to 14 Mile from 9 Mile to meet up with a cousin, but could not get past 10 1/2 Mile and gave up.

Anyway, I'd do this Mustang Alley again in a flash... great people, cars and all. Only downside - we didn't get to meet up with Greg or Ron.

Who's going to the Mustang Memories show this weekend in Redford.I'll be there, who else is going?

    Greg

Hey, Greg, when is it - this coming weekend? I am back in town for August (up in Lexington) so maybe I can get there. I do plan to go over to the 32 Deuce Coupe gathering in Dearborn on Friday.

I know I've posted about the clutch rod seal in early '65s before, but now that I'm farther along, can someone post pictures or hole diameter info on the early '65 clutch rod hole versus later ones? I know the seals were different. A picture of an early style seal would be helpful, too.

In my case it appears that someone tried to modify the firewall hole to fit the later '65 & 66 rod seal, but ended up butchering it. So they instead mounted the seal on a piece of metal and screwed it onto the firewall. I'd like to try and "un-butcher" my firewall, though I'll probably use the later style seal.

Lyle – I don’t think I have a picture anymore (lost a bunch during computer crash) but mine is held in place via a metal “bezel”. As I recall, it is stainless, or appears to be. So, I am questioning whether or not the metal piece you refer to is actually part of the butchering – maybe it’s the real thing. My car’s build date = 11/04/64.

Anyone remember that guy I ran into last summer with the (2) GT350s and the garage full of shelved K motors? Saw him last weekend too while I had the car at my daughter's karate school where the GT350s are next door.

Yup, I remember him. I even offered my services to fill in as Grampa Noel and drive your daughter to her Karate lessons. LOL

I imagine that a high number of “adults” with kids in karate do not have the foggiest idea what martial arts are all about. We were disappointed years ago when we signed one son up for karate only to discover that the instructor did not understand. It was a sickening experience with this guy who was intent on teaching these young kids to kill.

I have tried to locate the original owner of mine, Rene - no luck. I do know about him and his exploits at the midwest drag stips, but my attempts to locate him and his wife have bombed. The car is still in the same general neighborhood where it was first purchased, to boot.

I must say I am thrilled that you had such good luck. If he sends you some old photos, we'd like to see them posted here.

Also I was wondering if I should put the engine and tranny in first before I put the carpet and interior back in.

Save the interior for last! (My opinion)

I took the engine out myself so I assumed it would be easy to put back in.

Nice and slow and methodically. Cover the engine compartment painted areas with quilted material - it's not all that hard.

The machine shop only put the main components together but I have to put the oil pump on, the water pump etc, is there a book that gives you the torque for the bolts?

There are a number of books that have torque numbers, but honestly, maybe you should have a shop manual – it looks like the Mustang Depot of Las Vegas has them for $46:

I had the manifolds done by a guy here in the MPLS area. My restorer friend blasted them for me and then had them sent to this guy (I don't know his name), who also did all the black underhood powder coating.

Just curious - which underhood parts were powder coated? The braces? I was thinking of doing mine early this summer.
