Hello and welcome,
Good to have you here
John.
I don’t see any problem with going with the crate motor. Like you say it’s not numbers matching. Maybe you’d find that block one day? You could also piece together a hipo while enjoying the crate motor.
John.
Thank you Fred, Merry Christmas and have a blessed New Year.
Thank you.
John.
It’s not much help but I remember seeing online a blue K code fastback quite a few years ago, I can’t remember what county it was in but definitely in Northern Europe. I’m pretty sure I saved the pictures, I’ve been looking but not found them so far.
Hope this helps
My ‘67 has a C on the no. 2 cap
Was thinking the same, I too have a ’67 K fastback, 4 speed, interior exterior decor group etc and like you say we don’t to see hardly any go up for sale.
First of all, sorry for your loss. Great to have you here. How is the kar coming along?
John.
Yeah, guess it was done late Friday afternoon
Evan-
Yes that is correct, 7T02K203974 and the gearbox is vin stamped
however the K is missing on the gearbox vin, have you come
across that before?
Your welcome to put it in the data base. I also have the buck tag
and build sheet for this Kar you may be interested to see.
John
Fred-
Something else you may be interested to see.
Obviously something done when imported into Belgium.
Hoping everyone had a wonderful Christmas and wishing everyone a happy New Year.
John.
I’m thinking this was done when imported into Belgium from new or when it was imported into the UK in ‘72
I’ll upload a pic soon as I work out how to, can I do it on iPhone or do I need to do it on a pc/laptop?
I can still make out the build date code on the tab but the full vin has been stamped over the top, it’s tight for room and a little uneven but it fits. I’m thinking it was done when imported into Belgium, maybe a requirement?
John.
Fred-
My ‘67 k code is a Metuchen built fastback. It was imported to Belgium from new. My block isn’t stamped in the usual place, it’s stamped on the pad just in front of the driver side cylinder head. The gearbox is vin stamped.
John.
I know the history of the car from 1972 so im sure there 1960's,
they are in good condition no cracks etc. The motor has the original 4100 carb,
manifold and exhaust manifolds and cam so i wonder why someone put C6FE heads on? i mean their not to their full potential.
Thanks Dan
John
Just started a full rebuild and found i have C6FE heads on my motor, just how rare are these?
