I'm fortunate to live only a few miles from Bob Mannel. I've visited his home and toured his workshop. He is a very accommodating person and truly has a passion for the Ford small block.
Welcome and thanks Bob for your invaluable book and contribution to the hobby!
I'm still looking for a copy of "In Search of Mustangs". No luck on Amazon, eBay, etc. Any ideas?
I have a friend that owns a 1963 289 Falcon Sprint convertible with the that type of chrome valve covers.
I know the shift rods need to be phosphate, but for some strange reason I have a severe allergic reaction to the do-it-yourself phosphate process vapors. I have a lot of installed parts that need to be phosphate, but are painted instead.
The rods are cast blast paint. I do have the wave washer kit.
Did the early '65s come with a lower boot?
I just got my shifter back from Bill Heely's, MD. Everthing looks great and the price was very reasonable. I also had the shift lever re-chromed. If it shifts as good as it looks! I can't wait to get it installed.

The only Goodrich dual-redline I saw on the website was a 205/70R14.
I've never been to the museum, but I used to own a '65 convertible that Jerry Regynski restored. He was very helpful and sent me any and all the documentation about the car I requested. Very nice work.
Isn't it interesting that the recent big $$$ item has increased by one million each year.
2005 - F-88 Olds Concept $3M
2006 - Futurliner Bus $4M
2007 - Shelby Cobra $5M
Didn't meet reserve, stalling out at $38,099. As a '65 konvertible owner, I was a bit dissapointed that the bids didn't get into the $40K range. I suppose listing a week before the B-J auction gets everyone's adrenaline rushing wasn't too clever.
I bet the price will be a little higher than 2004.
At the 40th show, I was still looking for a K convertible. I circled this car several times each day hoping to locate the owner-just in case he wanted to sell. Nobody I asked wanted to sell at that time. After I bought mine, several K cars from the 40th have been for sale.
The car in this photo taken at the 40th Anniversary in Nashville, looks to be the same car, right down to the '65 Mustang front license plate.

The Diamond Back website lists over 4 different styles that are available in the 195 and 205 sizes -- SE, Alpha, DB III, 500s and the Supreme. Keviha went with the Supremes. Any others remember their styles?
Diamond Back and Coker prices are close. Since I live in Tennessee and Coker is also located in Tennessee, I would have to pay almost 10% sales tax on the Cokers.
Quote from kevihaI wanted a slightly larger tire, and wrestled between 205/70R14's and 205/75R14's. I ended up going slightly shorter "75's" as I already had the same size on the car in white walls and liked the look.
Isn't the 70 series the shorter, wider tire?
Those old Bedford dual-redlines of mine are recessed. Were the original redlines raised or recessed?
I see a new set of dual-redline tires in the near future for my Konvertible, but I can't decide on bias-ply or radials. I'm running a 20 year-old set of Bedford bias redlines now. They still look brand new. Definitely a white-knukle drive all the way. I still love the way the bias tires look, but I miss the radial ride.
If I decide on radials, then do I go with Coker, Diamondback or other? 195/70R14 or 205/70R14? Somebody push me over the edge so I can make a decision soon.

Does anyone know the date when the 3734 fuel pumps were replaced by the 3939S ?
