I did think that but was confused as the previous owner had daubed the left steering stop Green, obviously wrong and should be Red but it did get me wondering!!

I am refreshing a 66K GT that was restored a few years ago and wanted to get the paint daubs correct. I am wondering if Left in the book refers to looking straight on at the Kar or Left sitting in the Kar drivers side, to me it's not very clear. An example is the steering stops on front end refers to Right side Green, Left side Red. So Green driver's side or passenger side?

Hi, I am restoring a 66 K code with a Sep 65 build date. My question is should there be locking tabs on the exhaust manifolds (headers) for a 1966?

Hi All, I am after some help please. I am missing the axle data tag. I have the correct 9" axle.

The differential has been taken out of the axle casing and the door data tag shows the axle as an E code, When you decode this it says the axle ratio should be a 3L50 With a model code of WCZ-T.

The differential with a code E and a 3.50 to 1 ratio should be a limited slip diff. How can I tell if I have got a limited slip diff fitted?

I just want to make sure that there should be two rubbers used on the rear axle? One that bolts to the pinion bracket and the one that is welded to the underside of the trunk pan, just seems odd having two rubbers?

I have read that an original air cleaner base for 65/66 are normally date stamped but what about the chrome lid are there any stamping's and are the originals the same as the reproduction ones?

I was able to get to the car today and happy to say I have the correct one 😀 thanks all for the help.

65KGT and Fred thanks for your help, can't wait now to see if it hopefully is the original stamped one. The top looks correct and that's all I can see on pics until I am at the car next time.
