Thanks for the advice.
I should have looked closer, I have the type that has one flat edge and one curved edge.
But for a level 7 engine I think I should have rectangular heads.
I will look into replacements.

What do you guys do when you build up a fresh motor in regard to the connecting rod bolts.
I really would like to keep the original bolts but there is a concern about the age of them, possible failures due to stress etc.
Are there any concerns about breakage ? is it common for them to fail, or am I worrying too much?
Is there a source for new ones ? particularly the football head ones ?
Thanks
That sounds about right. We get shafted for everything over here.
Welcome
What shape of K are you after ? One of the ones they did not finish properly and forgot the roof. One of the ones that someone sat on the rear. Or a stunningly beautiful fastback. ![]()

Looks a nice original car. I have a 1965 13R GT FB Dearborn car.
Would be interested in seeing any engine bay pics you have.

You have an urgent PM.

Welcome
Good luck in finding a good one.
Fantastic pic
You should blow up a copy and put it on your garage wall.
I have a 17 year old son. He is a real petrol head. He likes more modern stuff. Unfortunatly he is a full time wheelchair user.
We would be in the garage together up to all kinds of mischief if he were able.
I envy you. Enjoy your time together.
Merry Christmas from the other side of the pond.
Interesting, on my heads there are not enough threads showing above the original nut to get another nut on.
Thanks everyone.
Having never used these before I assumed polylocks were a unique product. I now see it is kind of a generic name.
Over here I can get Comp Cams polylocks. I have just taken some measurements using plasticene under the valve covers and think I have determined which model of polylock I need. The polylock for standard rockers is 1.300" tall and will only give me about .080" clearance. The polylock for roller rockers is shorter at 1.000" and will give me around .380" clearance so I will get some of those and see if I can get them to work.
Thanks Fred.
Hi guys, please tell me if Polylocks will fit under standard chrome rocker covers? Thanks
Quote from RavenWelcome 65 GT HIPO from Sydney NSW. COBRABOY the deal has been done. You can take home the ashes but Shane Warne gets to keep Liz Hurley.
Tell you what send me over a couple of air tickets and I will pop over and discuss it with you. I am sure if you line up enough tinnys I can arrange for you to have Lizzie and the ashes.
But unfortunatly I cant arrange it from this end. ![]()
I can recommend Phillip Severence. He restored my tach and does clocks too. Very good service.
Welcome
Enjoy your car and summer - its bl**dy freezing here.
I dont think I would go for the tri Y's Ray. And I think Motive would be the only way for me to get close to stock. Its not as if I can go somewhere and pick it up.
I may be, but I have a feeling that it would have to be my only purchase I would be able to make for the car in a given year.
Can someone put up a pic of an original ?
I have a white 'T'. Are the originals truly clear ? If they are I would put in an order for a reproduction T.
