I have not seen this before. Is this car coming out from Ford?

    -Fred-

yes. 2.3L 4cyl turbo. 330 projected HP. 6 speed man or 10 speed auto 3.55 axle. I'll try to post the spec page tonight.

If I remember, the (2nd) old site could have been updated to comply with the hosting platform with not much effort. I’m not a whiz at all this stuff but I did read what needed to be changed and couldn’t understand why it was never done. I don’t remember exactly what they wanted, maybe I’m off base here? Any way, good to be back. I kept checking the old link and finally deleted it. I decided on a whim just to see what if anything came up and here we are. Looks like I missed a few months.
The jackpot would be to get the original site info back. That was a treasure trove. The second site never seemed to be the same as a bunch of members seemed to have given up. Hope this one takes off.

    2) The H-pipe hung down way too low, so I had to have a local muffler shop put an extra 7 degrees of bend into the intermediate pipes between the H and the mufflers, making more room to pull the mufflers and therefore the H-pipe up closer to the floor

I saw a 65 last year that had a new h-pipe and the Arvinode exhaust. From a distance, the system was so low it looked like the car had headers hanging down. When I got closer to look at it, I saw what it was and thought he had the pipes upside down. Did not ask where he bought the parts, but h-pipes must need better QC.

    Sounded fantastic though.

    the secondary springs for a holley carb will interchange. gives a good selection to choose from.<hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

Great idea! Since I traded my 4.11 gears for 3.50, I thought the secondaries take too long to open with the slower RPM increase. I was going to look into that mechanical conversion but this would be a good alternative.

ran the part #'s, only one that shows available is C3AZ-6008-D,

    from 3 dealers:

    Pioneer Ford Platville WI 608-348-3673

    Willey Ford Ames IA 515-233-1913

    Bowman Ford Bowman ND 701-523-3257

quantity of 1 @ each dealer

    Good luck!!

All bets are off however for any car that spent its life in the north east quadrant of the US. I believe plastic even rusts in that locale![/font=Comic Sans MS]

All it's life in Ohio. I have had it since 76 and it has not been in the snow/salt mix while in my ownership. The last guy did not drive it either, so maybe since 72 it's been parked for the winters.

That did not stop the frame rails or quarters from rusting though.

I want to replace my bushings but I am worried about the bolts that hold the frame rail bracket. As far as I know, they have never been removed and the last thing I need is for one or both of them to snap off. I have not even tried them yet, I am going to look for a hole that I can load the threads up with WD40 or the like, so, this may be not be a problem at all. Just wondering what to look forward to.

It's not. The heat flap in the air cleaner really helped with carb ice build up in cold damp conditions. But, if you have the factory intake, I think there is a heat crossover that runs under the carb, from one head to the other. I have not looked at a factory manifold in years, correct me if I'm wrong. It should be checked for carbon build up and blockage.

This passage is blocked off or non-existing on most performance intakes.

Lift is .512, Duration 242 Intake and 252 Exhaust at .050 lift.

How much lift can you go with stock pistons and valve size? Assuming heads have not been milled.

What carburetion would be better than the original shoe box?

    <hr height=1 noshade id=quote></BLOCKQUOTE id=quote></font id=quote><font face="Verdana" size=2 id=quote>

None, in my opinion. Of course, in what aspect do you consider better?

I am running the FORD version of that intake on a stock engine with a HIPO carb. No leaks, no screwing around with it, it idles good. Would a Holley out accelerate it? Maybe, maybe not.

I have the 'Muscle Parts" version of the Cobra/F4B manifold. Mine says "FORD" and I'm using it with the Autolite 4100. Took awhile to find one on Ebay but I think it it was worth the wait. My objective was to stay period correct, this is a C9OZ part number.

I like the idea of the the Comp cam, little more duration and lift, a little cheater HP.

If you want to sound badass but still be able to drive, check out the Thumper cams they sell. They are not solid lifter though. I heard (the small) one in a Comet last summer, it's got the Lemans style sound. I think they have clips on the Comp site.

here is clip of the small thumper.
