the 4100 is so good in fact, Summit now sells a version of it. maybe made by Holley, I seem to remember a marine version from Holley years ago. this will give you the best of both worlds?

My Kar never ran better than when I took off the Holley and installed a Pony Carb unit.
The Holley was a pain in the butt.
I think you will get 3 of your wishes granted, 1)good performance, 2)reliable and 3)not deviated from stock, by going with a 4100.
I am also running the Petronix, most people can't tell.
looking for names of rebuilders for a power brake booster. This particular one is for a 63 'Bird.
How about water pumps?
In eastern Ohio or western Penn. would be a plus.
Is there a replacement insert available for the 65-66 styled steel wheel centers?
Didn't the 65/66 coupe in the movie "The Outsiders" have a spotlight? I don't know for sure where I saw one, but think it was that movie.
what was the part number for the correct white one?
How about either VHT engine enamel or one of the epoxy paints from Krylon? The VHT resists chemicals, it says, but needs to be 'baked' on.
I am running 215/60-15 BFG T/A's on 7" wide wheels. I have a problem of rubbing on full lock turns and a tire squeal, like low pressure, in most parking lots at low speeds. I don't know if its because they are so wide? I have a set of 205/65 Eagle LS tires that I want put on in the spring. They are .3" taller and .5" narrower. I love the smooth look of the BFG's, the Eagles are a serated sidewall
Quote from 6hypo5convJust out of curiosity what do the BF 82s fit?
I understand that the BF 42s were used on NON-hipo 289s....
think it was 6 cyl cars
Quote from wlewisWhat brand and weight of oil works best in a 60,000 mile K code engine? I just changed my oil from an unknown type and weight to Ford synthetic 5w20 and now engine has a valve tapping noise.
Walter
It has solid lifters, they should make some noise anyway. I would run 10-40, I think 5-20 is too light.
Check your valve adjustment too. Hopefully it is not a 'new' noise that came in.
Most of the websites you visit (and save in favorites/bookmarks)have a 'custom icon' that shows in the web address bar. I always thought this site should have one too. Turns out, it does...I just put firefox on a PC just to try it out and it loads a 'K' icon for this site and will show in the favorites. I can't seem to get it to show in IE6 and just put IE7 on this machine, it wont show there either. From what I looked at on the web, it is something in the way the icon is set up, can it be fixed? Not important, wold just like to see it.
QuoteGet them whether you need one or not. sell later. thanks Don Quillen
sign of a good deal is buying something you don't need?
I have searched the archives but not found this: what is the max lift you can do with stock valves and pistons, assuming heads were not cut? I see the LeMans cam had .510 lift, was it a direct swap?
I have looked into the new "Thumpr" cam from comp cams.
They say it is streetable but has the 'big cam' sound you want. Lift is not over .500 in the street verion.
not a direct link to comp, but down the page is a sound clip.

side note, anybody have some video of a 'K' with open headers either stock or with lemans cam?
"S1CR-6250-2.......Camshaft"
what cam is this? specs?
you will want to watch this....
jay leno and his shelby. this is part 2, you can link to parts 1 and 3 from there. listen carefully to his comments while he is driving.![]()
I considered those mufflers with a normal tailpipe system.
I may be getting ahead of myself, but I have some wheels on E-bay and have a bidder from Australia. I had a prior item and was asked at that time if I would ship there but I declined because of what I thought would be a major hassle.
So the question is how hard is it to ship out of country?
How is the currency exchange handled?
Tell me how it has worked for you.
mine is a Dearborn kar 5F09K399***.

And just think of the sounds, WOW!!!
You'd be surprised at the sound of the "tamer" FoMoCo system. It's got it's own merits, as well. ![]()
if you mean the stock 'GT' style, here is a short clip of mine, still has the FOMOCO system on it.
my car would have had the Arvinode system when built but I think has the TSB replacement mufflers. They are 'Ford' stamped, 1 piece inlet pipe/muffler.
