Mine also have M-1 embossed on the end of the rods in the bushing area. I have a poor quality close up photo, I will take better ones and will try to attach them when I get home.
Thanks for all your information/help, I plan to keep them on the car.
Will the new rubber bushings fit the old bars & brackets? If nobody knows for sure I will call the above provided manufacturer.
Again thanks

Were there any Ford dealer option traction bars that were available in 1965?
My 64.5 K Convertible has a Traction Bar installed on it. My car has a factory 4.11 rear end. The traction bar has M-1 markings on both ends.
It looks like it is an aftermarket product/instalation, but I would like to install a period correct, Ford product. Are there any that will not distract from my car, if i took it to a show?

Can anyone give me advise on the best place to get information, detailed steps, methods, proceedures for replacing entire floor on a 65 Convertible?

My early flywheel is a 160.

OK, I will admit that I don't know what all the marking represent! I know what the GT, K, and now the BL mean, but what do the other marking represent?
Can someone explain the differences in these two Autolite Carburators for me?
Is one more correct than the other for a 64.5 K code, 4 speed that was made in July 1964?
Thanks

Having the correct parts number will assist me in my search. Is the parts number on the back side of the sill?
I believe that the Ford emblem on the early sill plates were always Black. Is that correct?
Thanks for the info.
I currently have a set of 64.5 coupe sills and I have been advised that they could be bent and make to work/fit.
I would be willing to trade the coupe sills for correct convertible sills. Does anyone know the correct parts number for the 64.5 convertible sills?
Again thanks for you help.
Does anybody know where I can find a set of sill plates for a 64.5 convertible (the corners are squared off)
Are reproductions made?
Thanks
Thanks Bob
My car has a Generator Pulley # C3OF-10130-B, which is correct according to the HP Mustang 4th Edition. So would it be correct to state that the Generator must also have C3OF-10130-B on it to be correct?
As referenced above my Generator has varous numbers on it and the flange/hangers but none are identical to the pulley number.
Can you tell me exactly where these numbers should be located on the generator?
Thanks
Bob
Here is another photo of a 64.5 K flywheel.

What are the identifying numbers and location(s) of casting numbers, date codes etc. for a correct generator?
The HP Mustang Fourth Edition details the casting #s for a generator pully, but fails to provide identifers for the generator.
I have found several markings on my generator and would like to confirm that it is correct. I have failed to identify any discernable date code.
This is what I have found on the case - Ford stamp, FBC-10125-A, I also found the following stamped numbers on the back side of the brackets - FAB10139, an upside down 4, an 8, GFA and a B on one side and a 24 on the other side.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Does anybody have a photo of a Generator Pulley for a 64.5 Hipo? I have been told that there were at least two different types (stamped metal and/or cast iron) that were installed on these early cars.
I would like to know what one looks like and any casting numbers that it has on it to confirm that it is correct. I found a FORD parts web site that has photos of hard to find parts, but a pulley photo was not available on the site.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Has anyone ever seen or heard of a further breakdown of the 65 year model K code cars? i.e. How many 64.5 Ks were produced?
Trying to determine if my Drive Shaft is original and correct. Tony Gregory's Forth Edition states that the correct drive shaft for a 64.5, 4 speed should be 49-23/32" long, and states that it should be part number C5ZZ-4602E.
Three questions
1- Where do you start and stop the measurements?
2- For Drive Shafts is the part number and casting number the same?
3- Mine has casting numbers C3AA-4868-G and a yellow daub on the yoke. Is this a correct casting number for a 64.5 K car.
Any help is appreciated.

I am trying to decide which tires are correct for my 64.5 K. Tony Gregory's Forth Edition states, that " Mustangs of 64.5 vintage came with white-wall or black-walls only; at customers request. Dual red lines were not available until Aug 20, 1964."
So by that I assume that I would be incorrect to put red lines on my July 21, 1964 car, or since the build date is that close, could it have any of the three?
Is the build date on the door a reflection of the order date or the date that the car was completed and came off the assembly line?
I found a one owner (NIR) 65 K Conv for sale in Columbia SC. Owner
