Thank you Fred. I do have an nos export brace on my 70 BOSS 302 im not sure if it would be same as a 65 66 car and im sure the 65 shock towers have moved , if I had a width measurement of an original 65 66 monte Carlo bar or nos one I could make a tool to measure with and correct the tower movement as close as possible . as you would understand the more the towers are inward the more alignment shims are needed to gain the correct camber & caster setting when doing a front end alignment .I have an aftermarket export brace but who knows if it has the same dimensions as an original one, thank you again for your input.

Hi ALL, im looking for a width measurement just forward of the shock towers between the right & left front fender aprons where a monte Carlo bar would be installed on a 65-66 mustang , im doing some work on a 65 and want to check for shifting of the shock towers, a measurement from a strait car with original shock towers & aprons would be best for reference, thanks in advance, chuck.

I have been running one of Freds rebuilt pumps about 7 years now still going strong.
-
I sent you a pm on the block, it is standard bore, thanks, chuck.

I agree with Fred on those points, I would consider installing hardened exhaust seats if you were using unleaded fuel only if you were to disassemble the heads for any reason, other than that let it roll as it is.

Thanks ,I will contact you when I have info, I also sent you a p.m. thanks. chuck.

I will see what I can do with it in the next few weeks, where are you located ,would it need to be shipped.
-
Sorry for the delay, the casting block date is 5K26 the assy date stamp is 5K27 im located near buffalo ny , the long block if fully assembled it was running when removed from the car, as far as a price I would need to disassemble it for inspection , .
-
welcome to the site , I will check the casting date on the blocks I have and send you an e mail, chuck.

I have a late 65 date C code 289 complete long block that I would bet is still standard bore as its never been opened up since it was born, don't know if that would work for you.
