    1. On 1967 Dearborn Mustangs are the backside of the front and rear valances painted body color? 2. Are the wheels painted body color? 3. Are the underside of the front fenders painted body color? 4. Are the rear wheel wells painted body color? Thanks

Update on the 67' convertable K.

Engine is back and is bored .030 over. The crank just needed to be polished. We had a special cam ground for the supercharger, and will still use the soild lifters. Pistons are 9.5 to 1 compression. The engine will go back together next week.

The trans was checked out and we needed to put in some sychronizers. The biggest issue was dirt build up in the case. Unlike the engine the trans looked like it had been opened at least once before.

The panels are now on, but there is a lot of fitting to do.

When I got home today and checked my email I had a real treat. Kris Anderson, the second owner of the 67 vert sent me this little clip of the car. Note the CB antenna. Thanks Kris.

After the holidays I will start to rebuild the k code engine that came equiped with a paxton supercharger. I know that orginally the superchargers were put on the engines without any modifications to the engine. My question is..... should I do anything special to the engine to ensure reliability to this engine with the supercharger installed. I'm not going to race this car, primarily it will be an ocassionally driven show car. Although I know myself well enough to know I'm going to get into it once in a while. I've called the Paxton people and was told rebuilt it like you would any other engine. If anyone out there has any sugestions I sure would like to hear from you. Thanks

Although I'm no expert I have done some reading regarding the competition suspension option and I've not seen anything in writing about all comp.suspension cars having a 3:25 closed rear gear. My car with competition suspension came with a 3:50 open rear gear as stated in the Marti Report. At a minimum the competition suspension gave the owner 15 inch wheels with a 6:70x15 140MPH tires, a different hub cap (looks like a galaxy hub cap)and a set of adjustable front shocks. I think you also got different rear springs and different rear shocks although I'm not sure about these last two items. This topic has been discussed before and I think you can find out alot more by checking past posts.

There are some folks on this site that have done extensive research on this subject hopfully they will add to this topic. Qman

The car in question is a 67 from Dearborn. I'm looking for a picture showing the size and location of the choke cable hole. Should have done a better job of explaining myself in my earlier post. Thanks everyone for the help. Q.

Well it's winter here in Michigan and that means unless the shop is heated you are stuck in the house. I want to clean and polish the bright work around the front window while I sit in front of the TV this winter. I could send it out for a professional job, but I think this is something I can do. My question is... can this be done in the house by hand and what would you use? As always I look forward to hearing from the folks on this site. Qman

qballl, just got back from the suspension shop on the corner of M-81 and I-75. They looked up the correct arch for those rear springs and will re-arch them and put in new bushings and re clip them(I provide the clips)for $80.00.

    See ya this weekend.

I've noticed that on some 67 k codes the red oxide primer on the underside of the car is somewhat shiny while other cars have a more dull finish. Does anyone know the actual color formula for a 67 Dearborn k code and where it can be purchased? Thanks, Qman

I'll be going. Probably end up judging cars as our club sponsors this show. Our member cars are displayed seperately and are not judged. This past summer we were invited to judge MCOSEM member cars sererately at their big show. Either way eliminates potential problems, although I like having another club come up and judge member cars as it brings clubs together.

Last year we had over 300 Ford powered cars and this year we had to move the location across the street to the Expo Center because we ran out of room...a good problem. Hope to see lots of forum members.

Time to go out to the pole barn...I have a wiring harness that needs to be cleaned up. Qman

These are off a 67' K code Mustang with competition suspension.

The question I have.....does any one make these or rebuild them?

What I know so far is that they are Gabriel shocks, orginally painted black, made in Canada and say autolite. The part number is c7zf18045k1 below that it has a tza7 front. The top has a three level adjuster ...firm, normal, soft. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Qman

I'll be on Woodward also. We're going with a group from the Mid Michigan Mustang Club. Our group will be at Mustang ally. We will be in the hipo coupe. We may go up to Flint and the "Back to the Bricks" party. I saw on TV they had two thousand cars on Thursday night. Today a friend and I went to Waterford race course. The folks at Roush Racing rented the track. What a great day watching some high flyers running all out on that track. One fella had a 65 coupe with 347 five speed and 3.89 gear and no power adders. He was really handling that course with ease. Some of those new Roush cars are just beautifull. Most of the ones I saw were either stage two or three.

Sunday some of the mustang club members plan to go up to Caseville for a little show they have right on Lake Huron. I'm not going to work on Monday.

I'm going....if that is the show at Green Mead park near 8 mile rd. Infact a crew from our local mustang club will be coming down for the day. Not sure which car I'll drive. Either the blue k code coupe or the 65 restomod green fastback. If you get a chance stop by.Qman

No, we didn't talk. I was pretty busy either cleaning my car or judging other cars. Dan and I, along with a few other folks did sit down either late Friday night or Saturday night and talked about proposed national shows. The whole weekend kind of runs together.

The award program was top notch. I talked to the young man that put it together and told him his power point program was great. Did you notice very few people left after getting their award...most stayed until the end.

Time to clean up the 65 lots of bug juice and dirt. Qman

Just got home a few hours ago from the Springfield show and I must say they did a very nice job. Things were on time the venue was great and each club member wanted to make sure we were having a good time.

Lot's of beautiful mustangs to look at. Just a great weekend. Q.
